    Recommendations on Go Pro

I've been thining of getting one and was curious which model is best. Any pros cons to these cameras? Trying to stay around $250.00 Primary use would be for cars then vacations.

Have you looked into a Contour? I have one and love it. Way easier to use than a go pro IMO. The mounts are actually metal compared to the cheap plastic ones of a go pro. Plus it has way more mounting options.

You can grab a GoPro HD Hero 3 Silver for that. Great camera, no problems and the smart phone app is great.

What does the phone app do? Just worried about the mounts and losing the camera. Isn't the Motorsports edition the best for car related stuff.

I've tested the suction cup mount for the contour to 150 mph with out issue. The contour mounts are far superior to go pro. Contours are actually metal.

Check out the Liquid Image Ego. Watch some sample videos on YouTube, pretty nice. It's only about $150.

Natesvt: do you have one? Thanks for adding to my choices, def. less expensive.

My big concern is mounting, no issues coming off but what if you reapply over and over...does it lose it's strength? need a new sticky pad each time you mount it to a new location?

They usually use a suction cup....at least mine does. Just clean it and apply it to any solid smooth surface

If you have the camera on the outside of a car or on a bike, it has to be in the case or the audio is like it is above.

I have a Swann Freestyle. Does 1080P @30fps and 720p @60fps. Are the go pro's a little better? Yep. But for the price difference I am happy. I paid $125 but I saw them for $99 last week. Comes with a couple mounts but not the suction. I just bought the gopro suction at best buy to go with it. Comes with waterproof case, built in laser so you can see what you are shooting, and it comes with a detachable LCD for the back so you can view what you are shooting and play it back. But the best part is the remote. I would not buy one without a remote after having one. Bang for the buck with the features it has.....its hard to beat. The audio is my biggest complaint. If you don't have it in the case, the wind noise in unbearable. I will dig up some videos.

I have had a GoPro Hero HD, and now have the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition. I have no used the others, but I can assume for the average consumer any of these will do. You can read anywhere about the pro's and cons of each, but I have no gripes out my go pro. I've had it 140 at the strip and 170 on the rocket.

Thanks, Swann Freestyle looks pretty good for the price. IM still comparing as of now but a huge thanks for all the feedback everyone. Guess I would keep it in the case all the time to get better sound quality. Wish I could find a deal with the micro sd card, still searching.

Went to best buy today, just to look around. Prices seem out of this world to me. They did have another option, Jvc Adixxion. Anyone using this?

Anyone know where I can get the Swann Freestyle in a store? I would just buy it online but I'm leaving for Hawaii on Sunday and want to bring it with me.

I don't think any store carries them. If you happen to be down my way you can take mine with you and see if you like it. I wont be using it till the next FLD's.

I'm still looking, I have commitment issues lol. I was looking at new only now I'm looking at used but then the feedback ratings kill the deal. Sooner or later haha!

D-Rod thanks a lot for the offer, I bought one off ebay and had them express ship it from Maryland. It'll be here tomorrow morning, can't wait to test it out!
