Welp...Got the most of it apart and realized how much dedicated press work this is going to take. The problem is, I don't have easy access to one big enough for the job. :( Anyone want to learn how to rebuild one of these (with me...trial by fire) & a case of beer in exchange for the use of a press & shop for the night? ;)

If you were closer i'd do it. You really dont need a press unless the back cluster bearing is stubborn.

Thanks! Have you just tapped them into place with a hammer? Use a puller for removal?

If you have the bearing puller that you would use for the press just put it on and tap the main shaft with a hammer. Should slide off

OK...I think I can get my hands on those. Tap them on as well?

Well guys...I chickened out and let Mark at Mars Transmissions put the trans back together for me and I got it installed and running over the weekend! Runs nice...Loving the MGW shifter but some how or another I didn't get the 100HP bump I was hoping for! Haha

I love my MGW too ... I was pretty comittied to Pro 5.0 until mine wore out (yes, I wore one out). Picked up a MGW used and likely wouldnt ever use anything else now.

Haha! Pieces of my old Hurst shifter were laying in my tail case. Banging gears is fun at any cost!
