Coming from Someone who's owned both the 5.0 was wayyy more refined. More creature comforts, handled great, ride was good. Plus you can start to find them for a good deal now. I bought the terminator just because of what it is. It's loud and more mechanical feeling, fit and finish sucks compared to the 11. But it's like a jeep, no one buys them because they are affordable quiet and comfortable.

What do you feel is faster stock vs stock. I love the cobra look but the comfort ride of an 11 and up would be nice for the wife and my little one.

I got a chance to sample a 2014 GT the other night... it's a gray track pack car, glass roof, spoiler delete, recaros... maybe you know it? The guy that owns it is really cool!

Anyhow, the current 5.0 is not just a great Mustang... its a great car. It's almost subtle until you give it an extra 1/8" of throttle, and then you can tell there's a whole lot of something under the hood. With the 6-speed it was lots of fun to shift, but it also was very strong in whatever gear you happened to be in.

I get the older ones have a rough edge that's fun. I've got a 30 year old Porsche 911 that's more "fun" than any of the new P-cars because you have to work the old car and you can feel the old car working. I stepped out of Ron's (err, the gray) Mustang and into my well-flavored '85 GT. My Hurst shifter felt good and it was great to run home with the roof down on a hot, humid evening... driving my old car took my mind back to how much I enjoyed it when I first got it 19 years ago. But if I was buying one today, I'd get a new 5.0, tip the scales with some mild mods, and enjoy it for what it is... a great car.

    I like all 3 options.

That said, I'd probably pick the 11+ 5.0L, slap a Vortech or Paxton on it, and be done with it.

Another vote for the 5.0.. While the 03-04 Termi's are probably my all-time favorite, the new 5.0 is a really impressive platform. Ford spent some time working it out a little bit, making it a better, faster, funner car. The upgrades are nice, and the handling is much better. If your looking to keep it stalk for awhile and have fun with it, you have a warranty to back it for some time as well, which is great!

This... I surely didn't assume unnecessary debt on a 9 yr old car just for the hell of it!

Edit: well, maybe I kinda did. I just wanted to say I owned one at some point.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I drove an 11 gt and loved it. Never drove a terminator. What's the difference between an 11 gt and a 13 gt.

Cobra!! For around $20K u can get a pretty nice one. Very cheap to add 100+ hp! Plus they are very rare compared to the new 5.0's. U just don't see many 03/04 cobras on the road. IMO, they are the best looking mustang ever made. Resale value are holding very steady on them also, the 5.0's are dropping like crazy and will continue.

from what I understand, 8hp, a little torque, and a little money. That being said I think the refresh of the looks and interior makes getting a 13 worth it IMO

    Minor threadjack:
If the new 5.0 only came out in 11 and 12 then was discontinued with no replacement for it in its price class I think you would see them hold better. That being said, the floor of the 5.0 market will probably depend on how many years the 5.0 is offered in the 14.5+ cars.

The 13+ has the track apps, the available Track Pack, and the HID headlights and LED taillights.

From the choices given and having driven all of them, '11-up 5.0 by a mile, then the Terminator, then the GT500. If '11 and up GT500 was an option I would choose that since they have the aluminum block and actually turn (sort of).

for pure performance, cobra. but like someone said earlier, if you want an all around great car go with the 5.0. IMO i do not like the 13-14 front end and rear end. i think the 11 and 12 look way better. ford tried to do too much and it looks cheap to me. cobra has cheaper mods that exponentially increase since it is already boosted....but if you were to add boost to the 5.0 there would not be much comparison, but you would have to spend more $. all depends on what you wanna do....i am going for a new edge mach 1 when i get another one.

    GT500 > 5.0 > Terminator

I own a 2012 GT500 and a 2012 5.0. I've also owned a 2003 Cobra. The leaps and bounds between chassis would make me not consider a Terminator anymore. Great cars but the 5.0's potential trumps it same with the GT500 of any year.
