2001 gt thinking about picking this up. OPINIONS!

It has 136,000 miles on it

Looks really nice. MG is my favorite color.

with 136k I'd hit him at 5,500K then settle on 6k.

Are these motors prone to anything going bad that I should look for? It's a 9 hour drive home.

Only issue I've ever had was a spark plug came out. I got lucky it didn't blow out. I heard it was the lack of threads Ford put in. Other than that I've had no issues. Make sure the car is rust free, I've got a rust mark on my inner fender lip.

good luck, I remember seeing a picture of that car before. Looked really clean. Not crazy about the mileage though. I got mine with about 99k miles for around 6k. After they totaled my 95 and it was all said and done i paid 4,500 ish. lol

I am going to say it like this.. If you are looking for a nice cruiser or a DD in the summer its hard to beat a 99-04 GT. They get decent MPG, sound good and ride pretty nice for cheap. I bought mine with 75k miles on mine for 9k and its a premium with mach1000. I was very surprised and got 26.4 mpg on my way down to my new place here in MB and it was completely loaded with stuff I moved down with and fonzie. As far as anything going wrong, my car has 78k miles on it and nothing has gone wrong with it at all. I have been upgrading stuff on it a lot lately, with that being said. IF you are looking for a car that is fast or make big power DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy it. it even cost a lot of money just to make 400rwhp. As far as that car, I would say no more than 5500. But like I said, looking for a nice cruiser or DD then yea it is nice. Looking for a fast sports car, no.. Me, I would not buying another 96-04 2v car, unless it was getting a motor swap

I passed on it. It needs an alignment,inspected a cowl wiper cover, and the rear bumper painted. I offered him 5500 and he won't go for it. Oh well plenty stands out there. It would of been a cruiser!

Wow, those pictures must have been taken at just the right angles to hide the bodywork ect.

Still like the car though. Let him sit on your offer a little longer and hit em with it again in July see if he bites.
