Bodymen - Trunk Question

I swapped trunks with someone at Carlisle. His car was a 99-00 vert, mine is an 01 coupe.
My trunk doesn't seem to line up right. Do I need a different latch or what ?
Or is that how it lines up?

There is a bit of adjustability in the trunk latch, like the hook part on the bottom, but I already messed with it and this is about as good as I could get it.

Anyone have any thoughts ?

I actually did move the latch down. It helped but it is still a bit high. pics -

I'm not sure because I haven't looked at the trunk closely, but is there stoppers down on the trunk (like the hood) that you can adjust to raise or lower it a little? Sometimes I know they have those in them?

There are rubber stoppers on springs but they aren't adjustable.the latch hook is a little bit but I already messed with it a bit.
Can't for the life of me figure out why it isn't flush.

Im thinking about getting another latch and seeing what happens.
But damn wingless looks so good !
