    NMCA at Norwalk August 23, 24, 25

We had a pretty good time at the NMRA race. Lets get a group together for this race!

Always more fun when we have Amish Mafia, Tailgate sleepers, cooler bearers, or in general people to eat off the grill and drink beer with.

the recon team has established a beachhead at a local establishment that welcomes us with open arms for Saturday night ;)

we are staying at the Best Western hotel this time. Last hotel was okay but we are still trying to get the charges sorted out.

post up if you are coming, we will start the call outs soon enough. This is all makes so the GM boys can play too.

    Bob,

I saw on the website that there is still an event at National Trail this year on Labor Day weekend? I thought National Trail was off the schedule?

I think I may be in for this, BG is too far away and I would really like to get the car back out. I got all of my charges fixed, I even did a charge back on the room. To this day the manager has yet to respond to any of my messages...

The Columbus race is shown as a special event and will not have any heads up classes. See the links on tbe web site to be further confused. They would have to pay me, pay my hotel, then pay my gas money to get me to go back to that hole in Ohio. The facility keeps slipping and I have the worst luck there (broke 5 years straight).

i still plan on BG too. It's a long haul for sure but I loved racing there. First chance at negative DA on a well prepped track :)

i think we have the charges sorted too, J & Mark paid cash but they still charged our card. Just easier to stay somewhere else (Best Western is just up the street near Mexican Resteraunt).

I actually don't mind the BG drive, it's not that bad, I meant I didn't want to wait until that event to run my car again! The people that own the All American Inn also owned the Best Western so I'm looking for a different hotel! Apparently there is now new ownership though, it was changing hands while we were there, hopefully they get things fixed up because those 2 hotels are close to the track.

Gotcha on BG, thought you meant the tow, not the month :D

Let me know what you come up with on hotel. We have a reservation at the Best Western but never thought it was the same owners. The All American was okay too but she got a better rate at Best Western. The All American is EXACTLY the same layout (like they used the same BluePrints) as the Best Western Plus in Columbus (also near the track).

The good news is that I tested Saturday and was where I needed to be in the heat (11.85's) Car gets put up Saturday for a month out of town so it should be ready to race for Norwalk.

I'd really like to race my uncles Challenger in TS at it and have asked him a few times. Will see if he ends up letting me er not. He's not interested at all about putting the stickers/decals on it.

I'm thinking about dragging the family up that direction for a weekend of Cedar Point and NMCA. Likely do NMCA on Sunday. Is the swap meet worth going to?? Also, the entrance fees for the races (just to watch).....are there age limits for prices or are the prices across the board for everyone?? The webpage didn't say.

Mike - You seen her, she will have stuff set up no matter what I say ;) No point in hauling two grills, we will have ours for sure.

Dan - Pricing is $20/day, kids under 12 free. See the link. FWIW, swap meets are mostly useless at these any more, in many cases, there is nothing there. In most cases the best parts / deals are what racers bring and have sitting on their trailers ;) Most guys bring something as you wander the pits. Also FWIW, For sure the ehads up eliminations are Sunday but most of us TS guys take a time trial or one pass and load up and leave.
