Added a JLT CAI and matching tune. Best time is 12.44@113

Picked up 3 mph but lost a tenth. Its in the 60 ft.

Its .12 slower.

So gears or converter and what gears or stall speed?

The 12.33 was a 75 degree day and the 12.44 was 85 all passes made without wheel spin.

What should I go with 1st?

I personally think you would get more out of the converter, but you need both, so pick whichever one you can afford.

It's hard to compare numbers from different days, different mods and different weather conditions. Like you indicated, a slower 60' can throw things off as well as many other things.

With that said, to answer your questions, converter all day long! Best my car went with a tune and tires was a 12.41 getting out up top to try and go another round, it was probably a 12.3 pass. Best 60' with that combo was a 1.98 and averaged 2.00 and slower, my race weight is 3880lbs and I still have the stock 3.15 gears. I have since added a cai, long tubes, deleted the converters and installed a circle d 3c. Now my car has been a best 60' of 1.62 and pretty much runs that every time or really close, have yet to be out of the 1.6x's since the converter. Best et is 11.7 with a bunch of 11.8's. When it's hot, like norwalk the other weekend, runs 12.0x's all day long. I have since added an aluminum driveshaft but haven't been back out, suspension is still stock except for lowering springs. If I don't put a power adder on in the next few weeks, I'm going to do some suspension mods, 4.10's and maybe a looser converter!

do both, no question. I started with 4.10's & added the converter later, but in hindsight, I would have done the converter sooner I think.

heres an idea of both, although the car was a little lighter & on a full race setup/e85, lol. it does have the same 4200 stall & 4.10's now though, just on a more bracket race friendly tune & on pump gas.

right around 15 or so rwhp with the stock intake, a little more with a boss intake, a little more still with a cobra jet intake, but the car lost et on both the boss & cj intake.

I personally will never go back to it, it's a little too hard to get around here IMO & the issues it brings aren't worth it to me personally.

if I found the need for more octane, I'd just go the torco route with sunoco 93.

Thanks for the info. I was contemplating E85 for a while now and it seems like people like it a lot or shy way from it because of "issues" with tunes and such. As far as the Boss intake goes, I was steered away from it and told the gains are basically seen from 6,200 rpm and above. The coyote I have sees 95% street and 5% track use.
