    84 gt

Saw a real nice 84 GT last night at Janices in Ambridge. It will be up for sale. All original paint, 7 outta 10. T-tops. Tasteful mods. Guy has no clue how much to ask! I told him ask for 10, dont take less than eight. Am I in the ballpark? 73K miles, 5 speed.

My dad sold an 84 GT350 with T-tops about 3 years ago. It was a 9 outta 10 and he had a hard time getting 7k(I think he got that much). it was a 5.0 5 speed with cruise. Everything worked and it had like 50k on it

Obviously some assumption without seeing the car myself, but if a 7/10 and he lists it at $10k there will be a "what are people smoking" thread on here ;) the local market doesn't have a lot of love for four eye cars.

T tops help sell with some, kill it with others. If they seal, have good weatherstrip, etc they are a plus, leaking, bad fit, etc and they become a liability.

Same deal with "tasteful mods" for cars of that era. If he still has the stock parts it likely helps. Most willing to go top dollar are going to want more stock in that era of cars from what I've seen.

tell him to hit up four eyed pride with a few pictures and get their valuation. I suspect they would give him a good high end / starting point and potentially bump into an enthusiast buyer for the car.

I'm thinking $7500 would be about the top.

The '84s were only 175 hp... Pretty meaningful improvements on the 85 and 86s.

I think he would be lucky to get 4k.

There is a real nice stock 84 GT on a car lot in Creighton. They are trying to get $5200 for it and there is no takers. Not that the car is not worth it but the guys who have the fox body Mustangs (like me) grew up with the fox body Mustangs. The window of people who will pay high bucks for one (who does not already have one) is small. If I was looking to buy a Mustang, would I shell out $5200 for a 84 GT or would I put $5200 on a new 5.0 Mustang and make a monthly payment with a warranty and a 13 second car that is fast as hell, brakes well and handles well. I would go with the new Mustang.

I really would like to see a picture of the car but I know the high buck price would not be something that would NOT occur in Pittsburgh.

Here is an example of a 84 GT that would be nice to play with that would not break the bank. You could get it cheap enough and have fun with it. Again, I know there are pristine fox bodies out there (and I would like to say mine is one of them) but I know I would never get the money for my car that its worth to me. I will always be the old dude driving the 86 GT.

This one with a 351W would definitely get a nice price. I dont know what its worth but its light years over a stock 84GT. A 351W light foxbody runs pretty good.
