    front end noise opinions plz

im gonna check it out tomorrow. but i wanted to get some opinions. 2009 mustang 26k miles. there is noise coming from what im gathering to be either the ball joint or the wheel bearing. the noise while it sounds to be something that happens as the wheel is turning im getting vibrations that i can feel in the wheel and the pedals while slowing. sounds like the bearing but today i was pulling out of a parking lot and i heard a pop. and when i pull into a lot from a left turn with my wheel to the left i hear a clunk. im not sure if that one is the same issue or just my bushing needing greased on my front sway bar. the vibrations feel like a warped rotor but arent as apparent until slowing from higher speeds just to kinda give you the feeling.

i know these parts shouldnt be failing this early which is why i have even less of a clue what the hell it is. hip hip hooray for construction zones and pittsburgh potholes...

Jack it up and see if you have play. If bearing is bad in hub you will see it. Might be a little wiggle there or a lot. Plus you can check tie rod and ball joint at same time.

Loose lug nuts will feel much like a warped rotor.

ehhhh they werent loose... there was some play so im suspecting the bearing.. gonna order it and then take off the original.. i guess ill just give it a spin when i get it off to make sure before i go throwing money away at it. the brakes are getting worn and im just gonna replace them next check as well as upgrade the rotors.

isn't buying parts before diagnosing it just throwing parts at it?

why not jack it up and see what the issue is......

did jack it up. pulled the wheel. didnt have a socket wrench kit so i couldnt get any further. was pulling and pushing on things to see if anything was giving and the only thing i was able to move was the whole hub assembly. tie rod seemed fine and so did the ball joint. sooo when the parts get here ill take the caliper and rotor off and give it a spin to see if its grinding. if not the rotor is probs warped and ill ship the hub back and get myself some new brakes lmfao... i guess i like doing things the hard way >.>

Check your sway bar bushings and link ends for dry rot or slop. I've had them cause this same type of popping and clunking when turning in and out of parking lots or uneven surfaces that load one side or other.

There was a TSB for S197's from 05-07 for noise while turning. I know your's is an 09, but it's worth a peak just in case. The cause was a bad upper strut mount. Just one more thing to add to the list to check.

just installed new brakes and rotors (upgraded to the gt ones) and the vibrating is allll gone... however i think i still hear the noise but its still a hell of a lot lower than before... i did notice that when i took my wheel off that the inside of the tire was hella worn compared to the outside. do you think that maybe it may be tire noise? i checked the bearing when everything was off and it was nice and smooth so i didnt bother taking it off and putting the new one on. the noise is really subtle now but it kinda sounds like a wom wom wom wom as the wheel goes around when driving. def gonna get myself an alignment next week or so.

Swap front tires to the rear and see if the sound follows.

If your tires are unevenly worn then an alignment isn't going to help you. Always best to get aligned with new or at least evenly worn tires on the car.

In my head that sounds like a noise that would come from a rotating part.

Yep that's a bearing / hub noise for sure.
