I believe the rules state that when a battery is removed from it's original location a switch is then required regardless of e.t. A sealed enclosure is also necessary unless a bulkhead/firewall is utilized to seperate the driver and the battery. Moroso makes a decent battery box that is polyethylene, vented and has a rubber seal to keep batt. gases contained.

Mine was behind my license plate. I used an old style flip down license plate holder. Completely hidden on the street. Easily accessed at the track.

I can't remember what car mine is from. Just walk through the local salvage yard and check the older cars. Alot had the gas filler neck located behind the flip down license plate. I just added a couple of washers on each side to bring the holder out far enough to clear the switch. I took mine off (put battery back in engine bay), I'll check and see if I still have the flip down holder.

the only cool thing about my 81 tail lights is they have a flat spot on the inner part of the light that seems to be made just for a push/pull switch...hehe

I think the early 80's camaro's have a fold down license plate.
Im toying with the idea of mounting the on/off switch in my trunk keyhole since I have a remote popper for the trunk anyway.

Then the wire will go up with the trunk the only way on our cars rob is thru the taillight or right beside it , in the lower corner by the plate.
