Joe, if you are serious about this pure street event, what are you going to do about the cam rules? You're only allowed .499 max lift unless something has changed this year.

I was just going to run what I had because I'd be off the pace by a full sec. But, now I am just going to do the TnT at C.C and make an attempt to comply with the rules for 07'. I just wanna be a part of that class for some damn reason. They are MOVING for a 26x10 tire, .499 lift cam, diaphram clutch, 311 c.i.d. N/A, 3 pedal assembly!! At the last race in Ohio the #1 qualifier and winner of the event recorded a short time of 1.36. A true testament of well thought out combination. Granted it's a carb car. The 2005 winner utilized an e.f.i. set up and recorded some 1.38 short times.
Those racers are so NOT inclined to reveal any trials, tribulations, or current combos. I never asked any of them about the engine, hell I am just interested in the suspension. They, however are VERY vague in their descriptions. But I suppose I would be to if I had that amount of time and $$$$ in it. PLUS, it is such a competitive class you cannot afford to reveal your strategies...
I have been reading everything I can about Pure Street and that is about 2 paragraphs, lol... The shortblocks the top guys use have 2,500+ dollar cranks. It would be nothing to tie up close to 15,000 dollars for a top notch P/S bullitt. And then there is the carnage these engines create. Blowing a mainshaft or 2nd and 3rd gear clusters apart is a common occurance. So spare parts become crucial as well. Just to make it to all the races is $$$$.
As I said earlier I would just like to be a part of it. I mean if it went 11.0's and I finished the season, that would be a great start and personal accomplishment for me.
