Maybe to early to speculate but from what I've seen and read if you take one retro Stang, Fusion, and Taurus mix them together and there you have a 2015 stang. I'm not a fan at all to be honest from what I've seen thus far. I'm sure some will love it. Just like certain people like certain years of Mustangs, Vettes, or Camaro's. The old saying to each his own that applies here.

Fords decision to fusion-ize every front end is awful.

I'm kinda torn... I cannot effing stand retro (ie 05-09) I'd like a fresh look with less weight that you look at and say... "That's a mustang"

I'll reserve my opinion until I see the press release. I like the way ford is going with its other vehicles. Hell my wife and I own a 13 escape and focus. My parents picked up a 13 SHO. All great looking cars that are way ahead of their predecessors but I'm not sure if the new look translates to the mustang.

I'll also hold back an opinion. In general Ford does well with redesigns. The certainly do mess up occasionally but fix it within a few years. I think the new edge look better than the Fox, and the 2010+ look fantastic as well. The 05-09 aren't too great except for the Shelby. I'm also not a fan of the giant 70's door stops, but that might just be me.
I'll give it a chance. If it sucks, they'll fix it. No biggie.

Here is my 2 cents. Although I think the 11-14 Mustangs are the BEST Mustangs ever as far as looks, handling and power, they have to change them. The same basic style is 9 years old. In addition, for some reason, the Camaros are consistently out selling the current Mustang every month (I seriously have no idea why) but I guess people are tired of this style. I am not worried. The 5.0 is staying, the rumor is that it is going to be smaller and lighter (It is a little bit too big right now), and Ford has done a great job in the styling department. The Fusion, Focus, Taurus, Escape and F 150s are the best styled vehicles in their respected markets.

Honestly, if the car performs as it should, I could care less what it looks like.

Do those sales statistics support all Camaro sales or just the v8 models??? I ask because the Ford Mustang aftermarket owns gm and mopar.

Have you guys seen this picture yet? I guess a few designers at Ford used to work for Auston Martin.

i haven't seen pics of the new mustang, but i thought ford went in the right direction with the fusion, etc.... quite frankly, Astons are some of the most beautiful, if not THE most beautiful cars, ever created.... even though its a bit copy-cat, you can't go wrong by taking bits and peices from a car like that...

I've not been crazy for the Mustang since 1993, that was really the last time the design most resembled the original Pony Car (inexpensive, small, light, original styling, and easy to personalize or modify). The sn95 was a total turn off. The New Edge was an improvement, but still had too much of that generic jelly bean look copied from the Asian cars. The New Edge Cobra looked good, but those were too pricey to be considered a true pony car, more like a modern version of the upscale Shelby. The 2005-2009 was okay but really generic looking with weak lines, it could be made to look nice with the right bits and paint. The 07 to present Shelby is beautiful, but again, it is priced way too high for the average Mustang buyer. The current version was an improvement, but the rear end is just terrible, and again, the Boss 302 was cool but way too expensive to carry the line. All of this is played out in the sales figures, Mercury sold more Cougars in the 1960s than Ford is selling Mustangs today. That is pretty pitiful. So, I would like to see them get back to the 65/66 and 79/93 roots. An original design that is fresh, not a copy of something else, inexpensive, light, sturdy, and designed to be easily personalized by the working man. It's great that they build Shelbys and SVOs and Mach 1s or whatever, but they really need to get back to basics for the car itself. A good start would be to allow the base model to be ordered with a small V8 and decent but not great suspension and brakes for around $20,000 base + options. Strip out all that refinement and luxury and touch screen crappolla !! and bring back an option list that is 4 pages long. Let people buy the car they want and the sales will come back. Right now it is really just an ornament in the Ford portfolio designed to get people in the showroom to buy a Focus, Fusion, or F150. In some ways I think Mark hit the nail on the head, so long as they have performance bragging rights, they couldn't care less how many Mustangs they actually sell. That is sad. Mustang should be the flagship. If the design doesn't warrant being a flagship, they need to redesign it so that it is a true one of a kind Pony Car.
