Looking for performance shops/tuners in the area

Hey guys within the next year I'm going to be buying a blower and am going to need to have it installed and tuned. What are some good shops in the area that you guys have had experience with? I can't find that much info on any in the searching I've done. Some first hand accounts of some places would be great. Thanks.

rodeheaver's is around uniontown for the install...then kaufman's or hybrid dynamics for the tune.

tim rodeheaver is always busy....check out some of his work in his forum here.

your location would help us too :)

LaSota Racing in Ohio is who I will be using.
Other folks on here go there for tuning too.

Thanks guys. I'm in the burgh. Sorry I guess that would help huh? lol I didn't realize Kauffman's changed their name. Those guys still in the same place? I know how good they are.

I was going to buy a tuner kit and have it tuned at the time of install because its cheaper but we'll see. Maybe I can get it done two different places.

rj, I was kinda thinking of the same thing. Still might do it in the future???

    Here's a link from a few weeks ago. http://www.steelcitystangs.com/forum...ead.php?t=2615

Yeah, you're going to have to get it installed close and then take it somewhere else to tune it or take it somewhere and drop it off for install and tune. Personally, I would trust Rodeheaver more than anyone else in this area for the install. Tim, when you going to put a dyno in and start tuning???????????

EDIT: thing about that Mongoose kit, it's $3,900 with the tune. I already have the xcal2. I can find the vortech kit for $3,400-$3,600 elsewhere, but then I guess I'd have to flatbed the sumbitch somewhere to get it tuned.

Can't believe there are no REPUTABLE shops in all of southwestern PA that can tune a EFI Mustang. WTF?

You can have a startup tune emailed to you from SGS and drive it there.

I know what you are saying. Pittsburgh is a fairly large city. You'd figure there would be someone around here. I was looking into ASAP Performance but I can't get a call or email back from them.

I have a predator right now so I may end up having to buy an xcal2 or chip as well. I definitely want to buy a tuner kit with the intercooler because of the price. You are looking at $3400 or so for the kit and then another $100 for the focus fuel pump and $240 or so for the injectors. I need to get a complete listing of what comes with a tuner kit though to make sure I get everything.

The MPH mongoose kit is awesome but I want an intercooled kit. I know the power level will get old and I'll be wanting to go forged and up the boost at some point and an intercooler will definitely be needed over 10 psi.

I figured rodeheaver's was going to get a big response. I was looking through some of the threads and saw them doing work for you guys. From what they were doing I wouldn't hesitate to have them install anything on my car. I just didn't see them doing the tuning and didn't know if they had a dyno.

he doesnt have a dyno....he told me he refers people to a dyno for tuning....if it was a carb application he could probably do it, but not EFI. (from what he told me)

I didn't know they did this. I called them a few years ago about a mail-order tune and they told me they only do custom "dyno" tunes in their shop.

It's now what is known as a mail order tune, it's just to get the car up and running to drive it to them to do the custom tune.

I'd have the same place install it and tune it, why go to two places? SGS sounds good.
