Records. I've been spending most of my time on stuff everyone else gave up on. Building storage bins (not stained and finished yet), rebuilding old tables, and a homemade record cleaning machine.

Thanks man. It was a gamble doing the textured top but it worked out.

We bought a rental property last fall.
It was actually my first house that we sold 10 years ago. The people we sold it too got divorced and let it go to a short sale.
Been working in our spare time trying to get it ready to rent once weather breaks.

We did all new windows, new furnace/ac,200 amp service and landscaped rear yard plus some misc stuff.

Looks good! Who did you use for your windows and were you happy with the install? I am looking at new windows for my place in the next yr or two.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

So how thick is the overlay? - It is concrete, right? Curious how the process works.

Looks like 3" furring strips? I'd imagine at least 2" to prevent cracking? Also guessing there is some sort of rebar in there too? Concrete countertops are pretty sweet.

The overlay is About 1/4-3/8 of an inch thick. There is a strength coat which is applied first. Yes it is concrete.Although people argue with me that it's real marble/stone. Makes me laugh.

The furring strips were only forming the overlay. No steel in the form either. I had a couple hairline cracks (only with this particular overlay) but I actually exaggerated them and turned them into veins and it gave it so much character! I may even promote hairline cracks in the next one I do to get the same effect.
