    New bike.....

Since I sold my KX450 2 years ago, I've been itching for a while to get another bike. I picked this up on Tuesday. .....

2009 rmz-450... 470 stroker kit... engine fully rebuilt 5 hours ago... ported and polished head, new cylinder coating, remapped for the stroker kit (its fuel injected)

I think the only thing I need before I ride is new springs. Suspension was done by pro-action, but the springs are probably a bit light for me, since I'm a bit heavier than the previous rider......

I really look forward to getting back out - anyone on here riding bikes/quads?

    Nice pickup Bish!

I picked up a 2003 YZ125 this summer. I had intentions on pulling it apart over winter, but will probably switch to a bigger bike beforehand.

This was my first dirtbike so I was unsure of what size I wanted. Most of my buddies ride 125cc on the trials we frequent.

One thing is for sure...it's a complete different ballgame than slinging a litre bike around the streets as I was used to.

Yea, they're two distinct skill sets... If you want to go riding sometime, please let me know...

If you're looking for a new bike, 250f's are a dime a dozen.... and they'll be a huge power improvement over your 125

    Agreed. Complete different animals.

Where do you mainly ride at? I have a truck and trailer to haul a few bikes around if we could get some guys...

I don't know if the 250F would really be a jump in power? The Fs are 4 stroke correct? The YZ125 I have is a 2 stroke and runs pretty well.

That's the old-school way to look at it.... ever since Yamaha had a break through in 4stroke technology in 1998, and began the 4 stroke revolution, its not quite like that anymore. You'll want to ride one to see what you think... even though on a dyno they will probably have similar max hp numbers, the 4T is going to feel much stronger throughout the entire powerband...

I'm not telling you not to go for a 250 2T or a 450, though.... you gotta ride some different bikes and see what you like and what you think you're ready for.... you'd be more than welcome to take mine for a spin and see what you think....

I don't really have much of a riding spot at this point.... since i moved to my home near Beaver, i had no one to ride with and nowhere to ride, which is why i sold my KX450 almost 2 years ago... but i've had the itch for a while and decided to get another... I was doing some looking today, and it appears like Wellsville is back open, which is only like 20 miles from my house.... Mines and Meadows is pretty local but i only went there once and i don't remember anything about it... Slippery rock dunes isn't too far - i've never been there, but heard its really easy ..... marienville is about 2.5 hours from my place, but somewhere i'd like to go this upcoming year (its closed during the winter) ... We used to ride near Moon, but i've heard that's closed down now... And i've also heard of a place in the south hills/west mifflin area, but i don't know anything about it.... where i grew up, i could ride every day and not hit the same trail for a week - its weird for me to have to look for public places to ride lol....

    Do you have any spots?

Same situation I have, I can ride right out of where I keep my bike at a buddies house and go from town to town.

I have heard of some riding around bethel at the slag dumps but haven't been over there yet. Moon seems to be closed from everyone I've talked to. I also know theres some spots running along 79 in carnegie, I guarantee they're very small though.

I've thought about heading to hatfield mccoy at some point as well...

Let me know and I'll be able to get a couple guys together probably.

One other place I've heard of is Gibsonia. . Never Been out there but heard there's a lot .... ive also been in the cranberry area once, but honestly don't remember where we parked -I'll ask my friend...

I was only out to Wellsville once, but remember it being nearly endless . Its not far away - about 25 mins from me

I haven't even rode my new bike yet and I already have it torn apart. Took the forks and rear suspension off. It was previously owned by a race team down in MD (the dealer I bought it off of sponsors the race team) and judging by the spring rates in it, it was like a 150 lb guy that raced it... at 210 lbs, in JUST A BIT heavier, so the springs arent anywhere near where they need to be. Good news is that they already poured a lot of money into getting the fully valved and rebuilt suspension from Pro-Action.
