North American International Auto Show, anyone going?

At the Cobo Center in Detroit from Jan 18-26th. I'm really excited to go to this event, especially with the 2015 Mustang going to probably have a huge section. Never been so I'm pretty excited. I'm going the 19th and 20th. Anyone else going? Anyone else been to this show previous years?

Ill be sure to take lots of pictures!

19th & 20th should be great. Plan on staying until it closes Sunday night. It will be crowded in the afternoon and you might have a line of 4-5 people to sit in anything popular. But it usually clears out around dinner time and the evening is pretty quiet, so you can sit in a bunch of stuff without wasting a bunch of time.

I'd look at the "boring" stuff Sunday afternoon and the juicy stuff in the evening.

In addition to the cars, the displays are awesome. I remeber seeing a waterfall that spelled out J-E-E-P with cascading water and Ford's display had it's own ceiling in years I went.

Monday seemed to get busier as the day went on, so try to get there when it opens.

    It's awesome.

Maybe take some asprin too... the flashing ligths, neon, etc are nearly at Vegas levels.

    haha
guaranteed, it'll smoke the shelby in any performance category other than dyno numbers......

just my personal thoughts, but i felt like this would be the tell-tale sign as to whether there will be a ZR1 corvette in the C7 .... i don't imagine that GM wants Ford to stay the HP king, so if they didnt plan to bring out a ZR1 (like has been rumored), they would make the Z06 663hp.... but since they kept it under the 662 of the Shelby, i think the ZR1 is destined to come out in 2017 or something....

i think i shared this in the past.... and its just the base Stingray http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/cor...son-test4.html

oh yeah I realize the corvette is the better handling car, no doubt.

GM is probably waiting to reveal the next gen ZR1 until Ford pulls out its next "high performance" Mustang. Because it clearly seems that the v4, v6, and 5.0 v8 will be the only options of 2015. No special edition Mach 1 or Shelby

respectfully, i don't think it has anything to do with the next High Performance Mustang... the Camaro guys might care about that, but the Corvette isn't out there to battle with the mustang - they're not in the same "class" of car, and they never have been.... Personally, i think they'll wait a couple years as an effort to revive the brand name a little bit.... So the Z06 comes out in 2015 with massive horsepower and better-than-exotics level performance (speculation of course)..... in 2 years, there will still be tons of fans of the Corvette, but high wage-earners will be getting bored with the car and looking for the next level.... So the rumors and release of the ZR1 will keep the fans salivating and keep interest alive.... Small changes to the car, increases in hp or displacement, etc etc keep some people really thrilled, but in the grand scheme, most people don't care - and if you're not going to redsign the car every 4 years, you need BIG impacts to keep the interest in the car

Since when was the mustang built to compete with the corvette? So sick of hearing these comparisons. I'm sure the new z will be very impressive though.

I wasn't saying they were equal or in the same class guys. They do get compared a lot, not only in forums but also in motor trend/edmunds etc. I do agree with everything you said sonofabish, however.

This wasn't meant to be a battle guys, jeez.

btw, 1320goat you sell that pretty 11'?
