    Whole House Humidifier?

I know we got a couple of HVAC guys on here, so I need some recommendations. I need to replace my humidifier in the house as the plug-in unit we had a) did only one room and b)just died. The one we have on the furnace now is ancient and I don't think it works. It's a bypass unit and it is on the return side of the A/C it runs off of a 24v hardwire so I'd like to replace it with the same. Can anyone make a recommendation on a good one to buy? The house was built 1948, ~1200 sq.ft. and furnace is like 6 yr. old Goodman unit, if any of that makes a difference.

    Thanks!

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I can't believe that you posted on this... I have/had a newer Bryant that I threw in the trash yesterday. I got tried of the water feeder clogging because of our hard water. It was connected to the ductwork and would have probably worked with your HVAC...

Haha isn't that how it always works?! Hold onto something then as soon as you toss it someone's looking for it.

aprilaire is the largest most common humidifier manufacturers. alot of other people rebrand the aprilaire and charge more for it. just make sure its a water panel style and not a drum style and you will be fine. they make bypass (pipe from unit to ductwork) and powered humidifiers (no bypass pipe). both will get the job done, but the powered is a little better at doing it and costs more.

Cool yeah I was looking at the Aprilaire model 600 the other day and it looked like it would do the job. I have everything where it needs to be, thinking it should just be a plug and play deal.

    Thanks guys!

Bought the model 600 and installed it a couple weeks later. Works awesome and really has helped with the creaky wood floors and dry skin! Was a little nervous at first tapping into my furnace, but no issues to reprot.
