I heard the MACs have caused issues with the heads thus causing them to start blowing blue smoke (oil). There are more than one board members on here that experienced this first hand.

Yeah there are a number of horror stories about the MAC longtubes. I say save your money and do it right the first time.

As far as my pile goes, after spinning a rod bearing and throwing in a new shortblock I think power mods are on hold for the time being. This year will be about making the car more capable in the twisties. Lowering springs all around and new struts/shocks should help. I may throw a one piece driveshaft in the car if money permits as well.

Nope nothing else, just took the UDP's off and added a SCT tuner, that's all for now. I'd like to add a custom cam with my heads work't a bit or do the twisted wedge kit/upgrade or maybe a supercharger very soon. It'll probably be next winters mods thou. Moneys a bit tight after the full clutch and rear end upgrades. Come this Spring as of right now it'll probably be just getting a custom tune with the SCT tuner. I'm also gonna be getting some stickier tires out back, maybe the M/T Drag Radial II's or the Nitto NT05R's. Look into the Pypes long tubes that's what I got a few years back. They are a pretty fair price and seem to be made pretty well being Stainless an all.

For the money saved I don't think I'd buy any header that doesn't have a flange on it. Unless they have changed the design over the years...

Yep, I still got it. I actually drove it to work today. I tried to get my 35's mounted up for my 150 last night at walmart but they said it's against their policy to put on tires that are more than two sizes bigger than stock . I was pretty pissed so I just took the wheels of the 150 and I'll take them in loose today at lunch. Hopefully I have better luck. On another note, the heat in the 250 isn't that great when it's 5 out and I'm doing 70 on the highway, lol.

Thanks for the input guys. Money's tight this year since my job was eliminated. I'm hoping to have my 2nd degree done here in December and be working by January in the field again. Once that happens I should be in pretty good shape come then. I really wanted to buy a set of ARH, Kooks or Stainless Works long tubes, but like I said money is tight. Maybe i'll skip out on that this year and just put the new clutch and MGW in and call it quits. I do need it tuned though. Maybe I'll just have that done and not worry about anything else till the time comes.

    C6 Z51 Sway Bars
PFADT racing poly sway bar bushings

And I have an SLP Blackwing cold air intake sitting in the garage that needs to go on in the spring as well.

Sounds good! I did Z06 front and ZR1 rear sway bars on my last LS3 Vette along with DRM valved Bilstein shocks and this made a world of difference in the handling of the car. Im also getting some 275-40-17 drag radials but I think im gonna go with the Nitto NT05's....there a really good tire....I hooked really well on the 19" version last year.

Cant wait for this coming season!

Ah yeah, I almost pulled the trigger on a cam but I am probably dumping the car for a C6Z or C7 in the next year or so, so I didn't want to put that much $ into it.

I looked at the DRM stuff as well as the PFADT Johnny O'Connell stuff but I got the Z06 shocks as 1800 mile takeoffs from a 2012 car for $160.

A little birdie told me that '12 has some clutch protection elimination in the works. Can you divulge a little more info on this subject?????

I added some goodies to my Z06:

WCCH stage 2 CNC port job, hand finished by BTR (Brian Tooley Racing)
Fast 102 Intake port matched to heads by BTR
    Nick Williams 102mm throttle body
    BTR SLR Lifters
    BTR Custom Cam
    ATI 10% underdrive crank pulley
    American Racing 1 7/8" Headers
    American Racing 3" X-pipe
    LG4 3" Catback exhaust

Should have it on the dyno here very soon...taking it up to Wolfpack to be tuned by Ed Hutchings via HP Tuners

Car will be apprx. 100lbs lighter than last year also and should be making about 150rwhp more.

Not sure...More than likely he will be tuning my car remotely. Hes already done the drive-ability portion of my tune on the street remotely. Now I just gotta get a window where the roads are going to be descent and get the car up there and have him finish her up!

I see. I need Ed to clear up a very slight idle surge on the c5.
