Anybody with borlas and an aftermarket mid pipe

I'm gonna be getting a magnaflow catted x and then borla stingers in the near future. Now the mag x is 2.5" piping and so is the borla system, but the point where the catback meets the midpipe it slims down to 2.25" to meet with the stock midpipe. Now i have read this isn't a problem, but have also read that people had to weld in 2.5" piping to get a proper fit. Anybody that has borlas with an aftermarket mid pipe I would really appreciate if you could chime in. I do not want to hack up my brand new borla system...

what about the x-pipe? is it designed to fit to the stock cat-back if necessary? If so, then you shouldn't need to do anything.

I have the quiet borla it has the little adapters that you talk about that slide into the pipe. My car made 660whp and ran a 10.09@ 137 mph I really don't think it is hurting anything.

I have borla stingers and a upr X. It fit and worked fine. But you do have to make sure the connection is perfect. The borla necked down pipes dont leave much room for error when you connect them to the X. Just watch that spot and make sure you have them perfectly lined up and it will be fine

Thanks for letting me know. On my v6 i had a wicked exhaust leak and after i spend all this money for my cobras exhaust i will NOT let that happen haha

i put a magnaflow x pipe on my buddies 04 cobra with borla stingers and everything fit fine. But that was a cobra with an irs.

I have borlas with a prochamber and have no issues.....everything fit fine

After reading many posts and threads elsewhere, it seems as though I need new gaskets and some people even replace the headers studs with new bolts. What did you guys do to ensure the connections were nice and tight?

i just replace the exhaust manifold flange gasket. there only 1 on the passenger side

Most mid pipes come with the require gaskets and no need to change the header studs.....that would be a pain in the ass. Easier to just change the headers out for long tubes lol

Well I'm buying the xpipe used so i will just use all the stock stuff and buy a new passenger side gasket from ford.
