    Corvette Z06 Dyno Tune

Well guys Im taking my Z06 into Wolfpack Speed Friday for a dyno tune via Ed Hutchings (Hi-Tech Tuning) using HP Tuners.

    Stock 427 LS7 engine
    Stock ported heads
    Fast 102 Inatke
    BTR Custom Cam
    Nick Williams 102 throttle body
    ARH 1 7/8" longtube headers w/ 3" collector
    ARH 3" X-pipe with hi-flow cats
    LG4 3" catback exhaust
    Vararam CAI

The car made 463 rwhp and 438 rwtq with the Vararm CAI only and not tuned.

Hoping to crack the 600 rwhp mark....wish me luck!

I will post up dyno sheet and video.

I'm definitely not a Vette guy, but I do respect their performance. 600 streetable N/A RWHP is truly amazing.

I assume you're doing the remote tune with Ed? Can't wait to see the numbers.

Most Z06's with similar combo's make around 550-570 rwhp, some of the better ones get into the 580-590 range but not many break the 600 mark.

I think its definitely possible with my combo to break the 600 mark but well see tomorrow for certain.

Id be happy with anything over 600 but id really like to get over 615 to be honest....for some reason I have the number 617 rwhp stuck in my mind...lol

Yeah Ive dropped almost 100 lbs off of the car from last year. Most of that weight is rotational mass so it should help plenty!

Can just mess with dyno calibration if you really want to see it. Shit put it in STD correction and you'll probably have it. Remember at the end of the day dynos are tuning tools and can't be compared against other dynos even of the same model. Track numbers are what matter. :)

I have a Dynojet, not a Mustang Dyno, so there is no "messing with the dyno calibration". This is one of several reasons why the Dynojet is the industry standard.

    Anything can be skewed.

Using nothing more than a wet rag and a hair dryer, we were able to blow a hot, humid blast of air over the weather station during a dyno run. According to the dyno, the air in the room during our test was over 118-degrees and soaked with 29-percent humidity, resulting in an SAE correction factor of 1.07. In reality, the room was actually 83-degrees, meaning the motor ingested cooler, denser air resulting in more power. The result? An "extra" 17.91-rwhp and a reported "gain" of over 4.41-percent! And that's only a 35-degree jump, imagine what would happen if you dyno tested a car in 50-degree weather, but the station thought it was 150 outside! Truth be told, this is the most abused (we've seen it many times) and common dyno trick and it is something you should look out for. Fortunately, Dynojet (and many other companies) record and save weather station data for every run, so all you need to do is ask for the weather station data for a run to verify its authenticity. No weather station data, no care!

No need to worry about correction factors if you look at the real numbers, which are uncorrected

Start posting all your customer cars uncorrected then since they are the only real numbers.
