    1st Inspection.... Ouch! Got Wheels?

Mechanic called me and gave me a long list of things that need fixed in order for me to pass inspection. 2 of the items are floor pans and I have a cracked wheel. Anyone out there have a set of wheels for a 4 lug 1991 Mustang? I will probably just order the floor pans from Late Model Restoration.

I doubt the entire floor pan needs replaced. That is a ton of work and will cost you plenty - maybe more than the car is worth. Look into having the bad areas cut out and patched. Lots of wheels around, but you should post a pic of what you need so folks can try to find you a matching wheel. Good luck!

Floor pan patching is easy. Are you a DIY'er?

I would not trust myself to patch the floor pans and I have no welding skills. I think I found a set of pony wheels with new tires, so I may just get those. Any idea on labor cost to install replacement pans such as these: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...-Floor-Pan-Kit

I have a set of 10 holes. I also have another set of wheels, but need to look at them to see if they are 4 lug.

Not saying to not get the work done at some point (replace the wheel now), but personally I would simply go to another garage.

Wow, this forum rocks. I secured a set of pony wheels (with new tires on them) from a SCS member and picking them up tonight. I gave the green light to fix the floor pans. Upon further inspection, he said he could patch them for $500. I am sure I could have gone to another shop to overlook the pans, but it is a safety issue given the seat track pulled chunk out of the pan. My wife is going to kill me.

$500!!! Shit man....I hope that is all new pans and put in right. You likely just needed patches and could have been done WAY cheaper...and been just as safe. Bring it out on Sunday couldhave knocked it out in an afternoon.

Dan- I already pulled the trigger.. Next time I will poll the group. I thought $500 was reasonable as I found quotes stated on other forums upwards of 12-14 hours of labor. I just want to finally get my car inspected as it came from OH and never got inspected. I got classic tags so he overlooked the lack of cats, etc. and only did a safety inspection. You would not believe how many shops I called that said I would have to install cats on the exhaust even for safety inspection. I did get a set of pony wheels for $275 with good tires...thought that was a good deal...thanks Roush08!

had to think for a min. but I realized where I saw your car before, its the one that has been at juniors a few times.

i live right behind juniors, I'm the one that drives the Oaks truck that parks in the lot that junior uses, you should stop by & say hello sometime.

    I'm Larry btw.

Oh wow..Small world. My car is there getting floor pans repaired and subframe connectors welded in along with a ton of other work (Jerry's in Creighton). It is suppose to be done tomorrow. I see your truck around everywhere. We need to get some folks together for a ride in our neck of the woods!

Its been a little while!!! lol Tom had told me you sold it, which he and I where pretty surprised to hear. Especially since you had JPC Racing do all that work to it, breaking n/a new 5.0 Coyote records n all! Yeah this year will have to catch up and get together. I'll stop by some time. PM your #er since I got a new phone and lost all my old ones.
