New to NO2

This is the first Mustang I have owned with NO2 and I have some questions. All that I know is the car has a Zex system with a 75 shot. The previous owner also said he installed the proper spark plugs to use with the system. The system has never been used and there is a toggle switch to activate it upon WOT. There also is a fuel pressure guage under the hood and there is no bottle opener/warmer....My questions:

1. Can I just fill the tank and use it as is or do I need to adjust the timing?
2. As far as I know, there is no purge mechanism...is this a problem?

My engine is the 340 HP crate with an E303 cam. I also have MSD ignition. Sorry for the remedial questions!

1. Depends on where your timing is now. If it is at stock settings, 10 degrees btdc, then you are fine. If it is advanced to the limit, usually around 16 btdc, then you need to drop about 3 degrees back to be safe. Run 91-93 octane fuel, 93 is better. This is also assuming your compression ratio is less than 10:1. Also, check at least one plug. It should be at least one step colder than "stock" for your setup, a larger hit would require colder plugs. Spark plug gap should be .032 for N2O. Otherwise the nitrous may blow out your spark.

2. Short answer is...no. Not having a purge usually causes a small delay or "bog" before the initial hit. Purging the nitrous would get cold liquid nitrous to the solenoid, which would cure this issue. Lots of people run without a purge. For max performance, a purge is required.

P.S. Its N2O not NO2, the chemical formula is 2 parts nitrogen, one part oxygen.
