    Cool New Trailer

Picked this up today at All Pro Trailer Superstore. I really really wanted an ATC Silver 24' all aluminum with screw less walls but way over my budget. Things were sweet though. Looked at a bunch and ended up taking a Bendron Titan 24ft V-nose, 9900gvw, silver color.

Thing is roomy inside. 24ft corner to corner inside and the V is 31 1/4" deep. Going to build cabinets and counter top to go that area. Along with some up high. Finish walls and floor. Will leave all 24ft open. I found I really need to get those god awful 3.55 gears out of my truck and get 4.56's in it. Towing in mountains with some nice wind sucked. It was stable and didn't get blown around as much as I thought it would.

    The good stuff :D

It's called drive in trailer, lock up, leave it there and go home at end of day

Escape door would have been nice but not a huge deal for me. I could put a winch in or I might build a ramp/platform for the car to roll up on. Which would make doing things underneath while in trailer easier. Not real sure yet until I measure bottom of car doors to see how much room I need.

I get it Ed. Since I'm not running much this year I'll stick with borrowing my buddies open trailer but will need to do something for next year. For the way I race the load unload is likely as important as anything. I need fat guy friendly, lol. I like the interior ramp idea. I got so spoiled with Ryan's stacker my expectations are silly, lol. Actually an aluminum open is more my speed

Looks like you also need to research some air bag assist for the back of that pickup.

No air bags. Will use a Weight Distribution setup. Need to find one that will work with the deep v-nose on trailer.

First doing this in a v-nose sucks. Be so much faster with a normal trailer. Just happy do get something done.

Got the counter in place and frame openings for doors. 40" high at top, 24 1/4" deep with back edge 31 1/4" wide. Center opening is 35" wide. With 1/2" overlap for doors to close against. Used 3/4" Oak plywood for top. Rest is 1x2 and 1x3 select prime white pine. All glued and screwed together. Top is screwed and glued from underneath to tie it together. Sides will have shelves. Not sure is one shelf or two yet. Center will have a drawer in top and large door underneath. Still need to make the shelves, doors, and drawer. Need to find something to cover top with. Maybe some thick rubber. Now to get top cabinet framed in.

Open space to from back edge to V will get closed off up towards top cabinet will be. I have some ideas what I will do there.

I will have 7'-9" from front of cabinet to front of car when done.

Ended up picking up an airbag setup for truck. Finding a weight distribution setup to work with trailer was more trouble than worth and costly. Even added towing mirrors, power/heated. What a difference those make over what I had.

Again I wanna say doing this in a v-nose sucks. Otherwise coming out how I want it.

Need to make template and my dad will cut and bend a piece of stainless for counter top. Need to make panel to connect back of counter to back of overhead and make the doors. Have some 1/16" aluminum sheet unpainted available to cover doors and front of overhead. Finish walls as I have everything to do that. Floor and ceiling will have to wait as I am getting itch to race.

Made doors with 1/2" primed/sanded plywood. Cut bare aluminum sheet to fit and glued to wood using 3M 90 spray adhesive. Painted with white epoxy enamel. Then put aluminum trim around them.

Going with paint(for now) on floor. Slate Gray epoxy. Need a different roller as one I'm using is wrong and one coat looks like a primer coat.
