    Roaring sound on my 05 lincoln aviator

    i have a 05 lincoln aviator and its been makeing a high roaring sound when i start it and and go. i was told it was the clutch fan and i replaced it with a ford and a after market one and still haveing same roaring sound anyone have this issue with same or somewhat same car thanks

    where does it sound like its coming from? does it change with rpms?

    the sound is coming from that fan

    Does it sound like its running on high for about 5 minutes?, then ramps down?

    no the temp stays normal

    they are vicious and do fail, fan clutch stuck on my toyota pickup and sounded like a jet engine.. good thing is they are generally pretty cheap and cake to change

    i replaced with a ford one and also a after market and still the roaring still the same

    I meant the fan rpm.

    that would make the roaring sound like the clutch fan is bad ?

    Just to clear things up....their is a fan that bolts to a clutch that bolts to the water pump.....which did you replace

    Any chance something else in that area is making the noise? Bad belt tensioner...alternator bearing...really hard to tell without being there...

    I took off the fan and clutch completely and it was quite and when I put it back together it was roaring again

    That's just a suggestion. Seems like the fan is not the problem because you already replaced the clutch and nothing changed.
