    Anyone widen steel wheels locally?

Anyone locally widen steel wheels? There was a guy in New Ken that did them a few years back, called and he doesn't do them anymore. Wheel Vintiques sells a deep steel wheel but the centers are correct for my '64 F100, which has "innies" rather than "outies" (dogdish hubcap attaches inside rather than outside the center), and I am set on using the factory bottlecaps. They make a wheel that uses the factory cap but has 5" backspace, which is too much for my application. Going on a '64 F100, looking to do a 15x8-10 deep dish, would like the extra width all on the outside. 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

Stockton wheel is out because they are terrible and will never get my money.

Thank you. A place in California has the proper centers on the shelf, looking at 120 per wheel. Not bad.

Does anyone make a smoothie that pop inside the center? Wonder if that would work.

Yes they do, but I want to use the stock "bottlecaps". They fit the same way that the originals do anyway. The issue is the '64-earlier centers that accept the hubcaps that go inside of the center rather than the standard outside of the center way of mounting. None of the commercially available wheels use this type of center with any kind of reasonable backspace in the correct bolt pattern.

I ended up saying **** it and ordered custom 15x10s, OE centers with 4.5" of backspacing from these guys, rallyamerica.com. They had a couple of the centers left. I will try to get some pics posted up once I have them mounted and painted.

Love your truck by the way.

Would love to see what you end up with. I'm torn between keeping the wheels old school, or getting a newer 5 spoke style.

I'd buy these in a second if they weren't so expensive: http://www.rocketracingwheels.com/ro...hyper-shot/p53

I had a set of steel wheels done by wheel vintiques. I just did a 66 C10 and had them custom backspace a 15x8 wheel and also make it 12" wide. They will build a wheel to suit although there are some limitations including certain styles. Don't know if that helps any.
