    kooks LTs/h pipe - 2012 5.0

alright, pretty set on getting some kooks long tubes along with their h pipe to mate up with my Borla cat back here in the next week or two. will it make riding in the car annoying? i will be putting some serious miles on it each and every summer and dont want to be drowned out by too much noise. also, not sure if i want the off road H or not. inspection coming up in july and i would prefer to pass my emissions, but i have heard that even with high flow cats you might not pass.

thanks for the help, hoping to pull the trigger very soon.

I have stock manifolds, a offroad-x with borla stingers and my car is absolutely loud as ****. If I get on it, and my friends are sitting outside, they can hear my car plain as day from a solid mile-mile 1/2 away. The drone is pretty bad inside the cab, Although I removed the rearseats and don't have a cover for where the back rest were so that could increase noise too. I have a very thick blanket where my spare wheel was to absorb sound and sound deadening lined through my trunk as well. If you have a catless h/x pipe you can pass emissions easily, just make sure you have no CEL's and make it look like you have cats (which I think some x/h pipes come with the catted look) for visual inspection. If you drive less than 5k/year you can be exempt from emissions, just have to pay for the sticker only.

its a deep ass sexy growl that makes you grow chest hair and causes an erection everytime you smash the pedal, and a very loud and somewhat annoying drone especially with your windows up. I personally enjoy it, I just crank music with the windows down and its the perfect. youre going to lose MPG...I find myself laying into the throttle everytime I go past 2k :)

see, as of right now with the Borla catback i have absolutely zero drone, which i definitely like. a little bit i could stand. i do not plan on taking out the back seats or anything, but that does add to it. i dont care about mpg, i care about power...although with a less restrictive exhaust i should see a better mpg IF i can stay out of the throttle.

if you are talking about your new edge they are just not a quiet inside. my 97 had no cats and was pretty loud inside, but that is what i wanted. i guess i want this to be a little more refined on the inside, but ready for battle on the outside. thanks for the input!

Well, seems like no one in the US has this setup....went on two forums and a Facebook page. Called kooks and they said it should fit. the guy at Borla didn't think it would, but had no idea. He then told me their x pipe is a direct replacement for the stock h pipe, which means there should be no issue so I pulled the trigger. Going catted for now. Will do some before and after videos, I am pretty confident this is going to be a great combo.
