I laugh every time I hear someone say this. Everyone wants something nice for nothing! How much do you think a new GT should cost????? Does $25K sound good? Sounds good to me if I wanted to get back into a new 2V! LOL! Nothing is cheap nowadays, especially cars....

Or you could just get a loaded Kia Sorento for $41k... Prices have gone way up - but now we get what used to be supercar performance for that same $40k ( or less if you are stingy on the options ).

I hear ya though John - we remember new 5.0 foxes selling for $10k back in the Stone Age.

And you don't? You like paying high prices for things?

I am the opposite...I like nice things for cheap prices. Maybe I am weird?

When new corvette's are 55k I think 40k for a mustang GT is alot.

My point wasn't directed at just mustang prices....but more in line with what Ron was saying...40k for a car is alot of money to me...especially for a mustang GT!

I would make the same statement about $65k F250's.....it seems crazy to me to spend that much money on a vehicle.

I agree, crazy money for vehicles nowadays but people pay the money so it's not going to get any better! The other thing you have to consider is savvy shoppers aren't paying sticker for their vehicles. My 2015 F250 stickered $68K, I didn't give them a penny down and my total amount financed was several thousand under sticker. With dealer discounts, rebates, special financing etc., good deals can had.

Base 14GT with the track pack option, stickered around 35,700, paid 28,900. Only reason I didn't buy a used one.

I always wait until the end of the model year to buy new cars.

I hear ya Mark - I love everything about them - the feel and the look. They do the job without being a pain to get in and out of. The support is top notch.

I had originally planned on putting a one piece seat in the car anyway, so I didn't really care much. Plus I really couldn't find a car with no options with the Recaros and the Track Pack, and it was too late to order one. I would just toss a one piece seat in, but my wife has expressed an interest in hillclimbing and she sits like a ****ing midget and I like to sit on the floor so the recaros would be nice to have.

Probably just end up with a race seat and get an extra cushion for her to sit on.
