    Shults Ford Harmerville

Had a bad experience with them today. They tried to be underhanded and were blantantly dis-honest. I made a deal with them for x number of dollars at 48 months. I went to sign the papers and the loan papers said the same amount at 60 months. They said the 48 months was at a lower rate and they couldn't get that rate. But the BS comes in when they just tried to get me to sign instead of telling me. They know I would have walked away. I left anyway just fing pissed the f off. I really hate when people try to steal thousands of dollars from me. I have bought many cars from Shults in the past, but no more.

The F&I department is what you are complaining about. And yes it's where the real money is made at a dealership. A lot of people don't realize this. Unfortunately for you, this was a real unscrupulous F&I guy. There are ways to achieve a profit without upsetting the buyer. And I'm sure he's in hot sh*t with the Sales Manger over this one. I can tell you personally that this is a high pressure position in any dealership. It is always under scrutiny by the G.M. & Sales Manager. With the internet and numerous third party sites killing profits on the car itself. (If you stop and think about it, automobile purchases are the only item you purchase that you can find disclosure on the true price the dealership paid for a vehicle. You can't do this at Walmart or anywhere else you purchase items.) Dealerships have overhead and expenses and regardless of the general publics opinion, need to make money as well. It is a business like anything else. I'm not trying to defend the person you dealt with there. He should have never and I mean NEVER tried a move like that. It is a shame you were dealing with a shady F&I guy. I hope you get the vehicle you want from another dealer who is a little more honest. To be honest if you escalate this within the dealership you may just be able to get a better deal now to save even more money on the deal and still get the vehicle you want.

i would have flipped out and made it heard to everyone in the dealer what they were doing... I have a friend who is a salesguy and told him i wanted a # taxes in all fees out the door on a lease for my fiance.... he said 228.xx@39 months, said lets do it went to sign papers and go in with the F&I guy and all of a sudden the # was $235, so i pushed the papers back and said what happened to $228 and the guy mumbles something and says of theres some fees. I got up and went to my buddy and said im about to walk out the door and told him... then all of a sudden the F&I guy says that he punched in some wrong #'s... F U!!

just imagine if every person they pull this crap on doesnt care and says "oh its only $6 a month" !! they are stealing from their own customers and trying to just make more $ and cover it up with fees... I know if i wasnt there my fiance would have just signed the original paper and walked out.....

Try Latrobe Ford. I know a few racers from PRP have gone there, to both the Ford and Chevy shops, and been very very happy with their deals and how they were treated.

I talked to Shults Ford today and it was made right. They still should not have tried to deceive me, but it was taken care of. If the car in question was readily available I may have gone elsewhere. It is a Crown Victoria Sport with the buckets and floor shifter. There are not too many around that I know of. Of course there are probably 10 of them for sale in a 20 mile radius since I bought this one. I am glad they made it right. I have bought many cars from Shults over the years with out a problem.

Post like this always make me laugh. It's never the buyer got caught up in the moment and didn't listen/understand how the car deal was structured. I know these guys and trust me with the multitude of regulations looming over them the last thing they want to do is open themselves up in exchange for a little car deal profit. Furthermore Richard Bazzy doesn’t conduct business like this! I’m not bashing you man but if I was a betting man I would say you made an offer to buy the car at $XXX a month and never specified how long you would be willing to finance it for.
