AOD Fox- Are they that lame?

I am regretting my decision to purchase my 91 stang last fall after tonight. before I go on, here are the mods:

    1. New 306 crate w/ <3k miles
    2. GT40P heads
    3. Ford Motorsport headers
    4. Off road H pipe, FM mufflers
    5. 24lb injectors
    6. AOD (yea...sucks ass) with PA valve body
    7. MSD ignition
    8. E303 cam

So I could not even break traction today... Give me a f'n break. My old 5 speed 87 5.0 with basic bolt-ons and 200K miles would smoke this car. I can't figure out why the acceleration is so unimpressive. Is the AOD that lame? I have dumped tons of money trying to make this stang feel like my old '87 with more goodies and no luck. Before I dump more money into this good looking car, I wan't to bitch and see if anyone has suggestions. Maybe its just me...Would love for another Fox Body fan to ride with me to confirm I am not overly optimistic. I have ridden in many newer fast cars since the '87 and maybe its the reality of how performance has advanced. My other option is to take it to a reputable shop and ask them what is wrong/what is needed to make this scream.

Stock gears. 410's are on my list, but I am going to consider a swap before I invest in them. Anyone recommend a conversion kit? Any shops you would recommend to do a swap? What kind of labor am I looking at? I may have an aod with PA valve body for sale soon.

Yeah you definitely need to go to the darkside. Would be a fun car with a stick.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Gears would help big time. Full t-5 swap plus install will run you over 2k.

I think 273's were standard for the aod and 327's were an option for aod Mustangs. I will have to look at my diff tag.

I think you are right zoom. Most AOD cars I saw were 3.27's but that appears to be the optional ratio, as 2.73's were standard.

Makes sense. AOD. Stock gear. E-303 cam which kills your low end torque anyway. Just a miss-matched combo.

yes, a converter and gears will change things quick! Im not a big fan of the gt40p heads, I havent seen much real good power with them, the regular gt40 head seems to work alot better. a set of edelbrock e-street heads and a better cam would wake the motor right up. what intake manifold?
2015 A6 Mustang GT that so far has gone 9.48@147 but still the fastest prochargerd S550 in the world aside from Tim Essick's!
