Anyone used to live there? Family there? Visit? What's it like? Expensive?

Only reason I ask is I been in contact with a company there that would allow me to start traveling the world again(hauling special cargo to special places) is what they said they were allowed to tell me. They are based out of reading, pa flying three dash 8s which I like because they do EVERYTHING to them and I basically will have my own I'm responsible for (along with three other guys) and the pay is stupid and is what's really making me consider moving there but I hate the snow. That being said I probably won't be in states that much for me to worry about it as Much. So anyone got any experience with the place.

If I decide to pass it up everyone better start Liking Hondas because I will be building and working on Honda jets.

I can't confirm this, but my brother-in-law used to live in reading and described it as the detroit of PA due to the blight and general poverty. I have never been there personally

I personally wouldn't do it Scott. If your happy where your at and making good $. Which it seems you are. Plus you have rental properties down there. Ain't no way I'd move back here. I'd love to move down there but my wife won't leave her kids.:-(

if it's like that I will pass. Where I'm at now is decent but it's not a place to put roots in. Yes the money is decent but work schedule is always all over the place due to customers and contracts and other crap. My rentals I'm not worried about, most of them I have a company that takes care of them and just sends me a check. I had interview with Honda jet in greensboro, nc which seems like a great opportunity but unsure.


And living here get a old. If you do ever decide to move go south but not to a tourist town. If I had my way I would be in Savannah Georgia in a heartbeat at gulfstream

My brother lives just west of Reading in Wyomissing. He loves it.

As of 10 years ago, Reading to me was "meh". Its not "city" but its not "country" living either. A lot of people in Reading would commute a little east for work.

Turned it down
