Damn, they'd best be building several thousand. That is a great price for all that horsepower.

No way based on Dodge's cracksmokin' pricing they would put it less than 70k bare minimum.

However, if that is true, its about time that they offer something without cracked out pricing.

The pricing of this car really has my wheels turning... I have been chasing a pretty badass and sought after 60s era muscle car for the last five years or so and the guy is finally willing to accept a reasonable offer and I finally have the cash flow to make it happen, but this is making me really sit back and think about what I want to do.

I never imagined a day where I could go to an American car manufacture and get a 700+ hp rocket off the showroom floor... Still very pricey IMO but somewhat doable with a little sacrifice.

I have to admit the price is pretty amazing... about 15k or so lower than what I expected based on the dreamland Dodge lives in lately.

Actually, Dodge got it right--707 HP for $59,900
$38,900 for the 6.4 RT Scat Pack, 485 HP
Look out Ford, Looks like Dodge takes the lead

U couldn't build a 60's era muscle car with those amenities and that power for 60k.

There was a late model 7 liter Plum Crazy Challenger convertible at the PVGP Walnut Street show on Monday night. It was pretty badass. I might have to get my wife a Challenger one day - she loves them. My buddy has a Saleen Challenger with a Kenne Bell on it and it is a gorgeous car. I'm sure they are a lot of fun in a straight line. Handling will be so-so if the earlier SRT-8's are any indication. But highway comfort is definitely better than what the Mustang and Camaro offer. Like was said...it all depends on what you want.
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

Comparing to a 60s car. Me knowing you, you would like the 60s car more but that's just cuz I know your personality and we been friends a long time trav. But if I didn't know you I say..

60s is something to buy that goes to car shows and keep miles low and mods down. Buy it original and keep it original and it will only go up in value (assuming it's a sought after car which by saying you finally saved up enough money for it, it is one of those cars). It will have that wow factor from everyone.

Hellcat will be the car you can drive everyday and not worry about value. They will sell enough of them for them not to be rare. If you want a warranty and still have power to go 10s and drive everyday then boom. No warranty, tune/intake/exhaust tires go low 10s high 9s while still driving around in comfort everyday.

To me the hellcat is a perfect dd/weekend car. If they give me good enough trade in on my new ram i just bought then I will probably buy one as a dd. Still don't think it will be drag racing awesome due to weight and price. Because the whole buy less and mod more comes into the game then which I give all props to the 2011 mustang gt

Very true... but I'm not an amenities kind of guy. Hell I think my 96 S10 with power steering/brakes and an aftermarket cd player is cutting edge technology! haha

Yeah... neither car would ever come close to seeing DD seat time for me. Hellcat would probably see a little more miles than the other, but still would be very limited. With having a couple other toys to play around with, either car would probably see under 2500 miles per summer.

Kind of have to agree with this... be curious to see what Ford and Chevy have up their sleeve in the next 2-3 years. I've heard some rumors about a new BOSS 429 designed more for drag racing (not to be confused with the CobraJet) any truth behind this?
