Back home for a short visit, needed to throw a fresh set of springs on and see why it pushed a little coolant last time out .... Found the reason...
going to do springs and seal tonight, back together tomorrow. Could make the Friday night thing but think I'm going to hold off and go Saturday for the Brewer Menorial race
Speaking of Saturday's race... for those who don't know, this is the 5th Annual Nikki & Mark memorial race.
Nikki Deniker would have turned 12 today. She fought leukemia (AML) in 2007, went into remission, only to have it come back in April 2009. She never left the hospital before she went to heaven August 18, 2009. Her lungs were damaged by the treatment, and she couldn't recover. Karen and Bob created the Thinking of Nikki Foundation, a 501c non profit, to help kids and families fighting pediatric cancer. That is also the name on FB and the www, if you wanted to see more information.
Mark Brewer was a longtime racer, dyed in the wool Ford man, owner of the Motorworks. He wasn't feeling good in September, 2009, and finally went to the doctor. They found a malignant sarcoma on his femur. He was operated on the week of Thanksgiving, 2009, to remove it, and passed away from complications related to the surgery. Mark Jr won the Top class points championship last year at PRP, in a '78 Mustang King Cobra II.
Christine, Mark's wife, Karen, and Bob wanted a raceday to celebrate their memories, and have a lot of fun creating new ones. Check out the flyer on the PRP site for all the details... lots to do for the kids, good time to be had by all.
My junk is back together. Might head out to watch tonight, planning to race Saturday
the friday street nights were fun i hope they do them next year too
Added another one for this year, Friday, September 5
I'm going to try to make this one with good old Black Bess.
