Fairmont on Summit Point Shenandoah, Jul 2014

Here's the latest installment of my Summit Point Shenandoah videos. This time, I have 11" Mustang brakes, SVO calipers and master cylinder, and Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads.

The tach wire issue is inside the gauge itself. Bumps turn it on and off. The brakes are pretty good once they get warmed up. I think I need some cooling, judging by the streaks of grease on the wheel.

Put a rollbar in and hillclimb it. We got Rose Valley back for 2015 (early May) near Williamsport, Pa, like an hour drive from you.

Get some good pads for track days. Or, you could do what I used to: drive like you have crappy brakes! It ain't great for the lap times, but it is just as much fun, and you still get to turn hard and blast up the straights.

What pads do you have? Do you have brake ducts? The Jefferson Circuit is pretty hard on brakes.

Isn't this the event where the instructor got killed in the GTO?

They are the stock calipers for an 05. I believe it was ford rotors and motorcraft pads. I am definitely getting better pads, and I have been trying to study the brake duct setups that ametican muscle offers so I can make my own. No way I am spending like 250 dollars.

And yeah. The instructor that was in the gto died. Coming through the last turn before the paddock exit he hammered on it hard, the rear end came around and he couldnt control it. He ended up splitting the car around a tree. Pretty messed up, but if remember correctly, they were letting people rsce with drag radials, one guy in a 13-14 procharged gt even told the instructor that he had drag suspension setup and no front sway bar. Kind sketchy if you ask me.

someone, I believe in an older probe rolled his car like a dozen times on the main track right near the bridge too. They had to life flight him out. Lol hyperfest is now moved to vir. Thats a little further than I want to drive.

Not to shit up Mike's thread further than I already have (sorry Mike!), but yeah dude, that setup is gonna fade on the street. Pad choice is gonna depend on what you want to do with the car, Hawk HP+ is decent for autocross and light light track use, don't even consider buying HPS pads they are garbage. There are a ton of choices out there just depends what you want to do with the car.

The rotors are fine don't let anyone talk you into cross drilled or slotted rotors.

I would try better pads and cooling and good fluid before getting into a BBK.

Cross drilled rotors? Don't run them on the track. Not worth it. These were on the rear (thought I could get away with it on the rear so I only replaced the fronts) of a Z06 I had, this happened after two 3 lap sessions on the Jefferson circuit (Time Trial)....

Ended my weekend and I am lucky I didn't stuff the car. It went at ~120 on the back straight...
