Robin Williams - you will be missed

Today we lost one of the funniest people to ever walk the Earth. Robin Williams is gone at age 63 due to an apparent suicide.

That's extremely sad to read about. It's been said for years that comedians have a really big issue with depression and drug use. He was one of the most talented people. I always enjoyed his movies. Sad news :(

Its very sad that his demons got the best of him. Its amazing how hard us normal people struggle in life. We think if we had money (and maybe fame) that things would be great. I guess that is not the case. Having everything did not help Robin Williams.

I think it's hard to understand depression and how it can mentally and physically take control. I for one have been depressed over situations that has happened, but never to the point of ending my life. Medically from the patients I've witnessed that has had depression, it's like there is a constant burden on them, that they feel as though they can't escape from. For instance, it's like the bad dream, where you keep opening doors to a new room trying to get away from this "monster" but each room only leads to a dead end. Finally you get to a room, where there's just no where else to go, you've exhausted options and you are locked in with this "monster" trying to get you. So instead of letting them kill you, you end yourself before they can get to you. At least, that's how I seem to view it based on the many talks I've had with people who have suffered from clinical depression.

Nobody can truly understand depression unless they or someone they are close to suffers from it.

Yeah it's truly hard to believe he did that. It's hard to believe people do this. I just lost a friend of mine on Valentines this year. He was depressed and tired of fighting with his fiancé and shot himself in front of her. It's hard to believe people let things get to this point. It's truly sad. And people don't want to help people anymore. Everyone's trying to get over on someone. It's sad. Tonight I was at a gas station in New Castle I saw a guy and his son getting out to push their car to the pump. And three people walked past and looked and didn't even try to lend a hand I stopped pumping and went over and helped get them to the pump. Bottom line, our world is depressing and sometimes it's a lot of the little things that ad up and become overwhelming.
Life is a Journey, enjoy each moment. Don't take life to seriously, none of us make it out alive anyway.

I'm with you on that. The world is depressing sometimes. We all go through things, and the bottom line is that people don't really know what every individual is suffering with. A large majority of people scoff off helping individuals in need. It's amazing what a little bit of kindness can do to a person. While helping that guy push his car to the pump might not seem to be the biggest idea, that might have been one of the nicest things someone has ever done for him in who knows how long. It took a whole what few minutes to help someone out? That's why sometimes I wish society would do more for each other. That's another story for another time though.

I've been down in the dumps before and feeling like nothing is going right and unmotivated, but it might only be for a day or two. It's a horrible feeling, I couldn't imagine dealing with it for years or ever having it affect me to the point of ending my life.
