    Strange car interests

For some reason I have a thing for early Rangers. Owned a ton of them, made several into V8 trucks, and still have my first v8 conversion that I built with my dad....it will never leave. I've been looking for a dd to putt to and from work along or other errands in ugly weather and winter time. For some reason I keep coming back to an early Ranger! Going to look at one Wednesday evening.

I've also got a secret thing for Mavericks. I found a '72 two owner 6 cylinder car that I'd like to get a better look at. For now I'd just leave a straight six, give it a little rake, wheels, tires and drive the heck out of it. Maybe later a 5.0 EFI/T5 swap, bigger brakes, etc. Something like this.....

Both of these are blah rides to most folks but hold some strange interest of mine. :loco:

Love Mavericks! ...and just about anything that is tastefully put together. Making the less-popular cars into something cool scores bonus points in my book.

Very true... Anymore I find myself liking just about any car if done right. The only thing I dont like our 4 door sedans for the mid 50's-mid 70's (except wagons). Just can't seem to dig any of that era more doors.

Early rangers are real cool!! I sometimes regret doing a newer one like I did rather than an early one...

Elizabeth is about 45 minutes from me - toward the southeast. Let me know how it goes!

I hear ya Trav - but there are still some neat 4-doors out there...I'd love a mid-60's continental - someone here was working on one last year??

And I also find myself really liking 1960's wagons. A 7-liter Galaxie wagon would be awesome - with a stroked 351, 5-speed manual, and suspension goodies...

    1320goat- negative. It's static. It's a 7.5/9.5 drop. And yes I daily drive it

Yeah it looks low. I'm a sucker for 94-97 s10's. I built a bagged 95 s10 about 10 years ago. I haven't kept up with the minitruckin scene but I still miss that truck.

I wouldn't say I keep up with it, I sorta put this one together and it's been my only exposure to it. But yeah, it's on the low side. I have about an inch and a half of clearance

I like sport sedans a lot. 4 door cars that can handle and have a stick. My Cavalier used to be slammed and rode like a shit but kinda handled well... Wouldn't mind something like a new GLI 4 door or something as a DD next.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
