I would recommend pulling it out of the high grass and clean it up for photos. If you display a vehicle in the weeds and then you ask a grand for it? A grand just aint going to happen. I am sure there are good parts there that might be a better deal parting it out. Might be an excellent doner for a 2.3 car V-8 swap but no one can tell.

no I bought the car a few years back with a wiring problem to the fuel system and never worked it out. had the intent to run it at the old flashlight drags then the feds shut it down so it hit the back burner and it's an 85 not a 86 my screw up

hi don I'm not selling the car as a driver .selling it as parts just trying to get rid of the car as a whole. if I take the time to tear it down i'll store the parts for my other 3 cars.and I posted the wrong year it's a 85 not 86.and if you can get a motor trans and a 8.8 rear for less than a grand please tell me where you get parts.

Question - were the '85 CFI cars roller cam motors? I know the 302's with T5's were roller cams in '85...but not sure about the autos, which were CFI.

The '85's came with the 7.5" rear, so I take it the 8.8 in the car is not original? Just trying to help clarify what we're looking at here.
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

Chaz, Hello. I am not trying to dis your car. Someone interested in the parts may pay a grand if they can hear something run and can see what they are getting. Like I said, I recommend you pull it out of the weeds and take some pictures of the stuff that is worth while. Someone may want to crawl under it and see whats underneath. If you can get it running that is even better! You will find it easier promoting what you have. I know the LX noses and fender extentions always get a couple of hundred (if undamaged). Take some shots of the motor and interior. Pre 87 notchbacks are hard to find interior parts for. Drive train wise, more money will be offered if someone can hear it run. If someone cant hear it run, then what they offer you will be considerably lower.

Were you the guy on Craigslist selling a 83 V-6 notchback about a month ago?

yep that was me gave it to my godson who just graduated. he's in love with it. his grandfather just got a 68 so they can play together. car would run if you put gas straight down the cfi. but you have to worry about backfires melting the stupid plastic on the cfi. the body's pretty worthless. it wasn't great when I got it. have fiberglass fenders I was going to put on. and probably would have put a hood on too. it was meant for a 1/8 mile killer but never happened.and I wasn't offended I appreciate the input but on the otherhand I've ebayed the same parts in the past for good money. a few of our neighboring states crush everything older than 10 years and you'd be surprised at the people willing to take a drive. I just don't really have the time to tear it down without butchering it.

engines a ho n should be a roller but I never had the covers off.it has a billet distributer on it.other than that I have no idea whats been done to the motor if anything. trans has a shift kit. the rear was done I was told it has the factory kinda four link setup wich is like 2 small shocks on the upper side of the housing. I got 3 full sets of wheels n tires with the car because they were blowing the rears off the rims. I didn't build it so I cant give out receipts or anything. wich sucks because my 79's n 91 I can pretty much go from end to end n say whats been done.
