    Cheap Drag Car

    1979 Malibu Wagon

Had this listed a while back and I started tinkering around with it again so I pulled the ad. Anyways, life got in the way this summer and just didn't make the progress I wanted to so I'm putting it back up For Sale or Trade - no boats, swamp property, Jap crap, major projects, tools, ex-wives, etc.

Motor is a well built 377 stroker SBC. Has 13.5-1 compression, SCAT crank, 5.7 Chevy rods, Forged Speed Pro pistons, World Sportsman 200 CC iron heads with 64 cc chambers, and 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, chrome moly pushrods, full aluminum roller rockers, COMp solid lifter cam 250/260 duration @ .050 and 532/55 lift, Pete Jackson gear drive, Victor Jr intake with brand new 850 Proform HP carb on top of a Wilson nitrous spacer - wired and plumbed for a 125 shot, with new 110 GPH electric fuel pump and Holley regulator.

    This thing sounds NASTY !!!!

Tranny is a Turbo 350 with a brand new Freakshow Performance 5000 stall converter with a new B&M Z Gate shifter, and a new deep aluminum pan.

Car is wired - headlights/tailights and runs on toggle switches and push button start, has a new 4 wire alternator, new oil pressure and water temp gauges, has 5" Autometer Tach with shift light and recall. Also has an electric fan from a Grand National to cool the rad. Car also has 2 fiberglass racing seats, and installed driveshaft safety loop.

Car has GM 10 bolt, and comes with a mini spool. I also have a stock hood with a small 2 inch hood scoop for it and hood pins.

Buyer also has option of wheels/tires - The aluminum slots pictured or a set of mismatched big littles mounted to 11.5 inch ET Drags. Both sets have great tread life remaining.

I believe this car can and should run deep into the 11's NA if not faster. 10's should be no problem on the 125 shot.

BUMP - Would make someone a killer deal on this as I really don't feel like storing it this winter and won't have the time to mess with it.

Would also sell just the motor for $3000 if interested or as a roller (minus engine and tranny) with the big and littles for $1500.

Would also consider some trades up or down... Interested in Harleys, old trucks, new trucks, CASH, cafe racers, bobbers, station wagons, CASH, quads, guns, side x sides, CASH, Mustangs, Camaros, big block Chevy's, old cars, and did I mention CASH?

Forgot to mention a few things in my original post.

1.This car DOES come with a Pennsylvania Title. It is in the previous owners name, but I also have a copy of his drivers license so it can be transferred.

2.Car also has all brand new factory braking components installed - drums, rotors, pads, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder.

And for clarification as I've had a couple people message me about it as a roller. The roller price listed does not include the following; engine, transmission, shifter, or nitrous system. EVERYTHING else goes with the car.

Not gonna lie, it would take alot of work to make this one look that pretty! This would have been the perfect candidate for PINKS back in the day... Ugly as sin but would scoot for the money invested.

I'd be going after the right size rubber and stance! That makes anything look cool. After that.........an LS, OD trans, and creature comforts. Leave the paint and give it some old skool "shop car" signage on the doors......Bowers Speed Shop or something like that.

The engine sounds like a nice piece . I was thinking about replacing the SBC that is in the 55 truck.
