Mike never fears the gear. Mine barks the tires easy on the 3-4 shift with 3.73's and I'm N/A. If I ever go blower I will probably keep the 3.73's.

I'd like to score a ride in it while you still have the 3.55 gears. Seems to me that you would constantly be blowing the tires off with much more gear than 3.55's?

Is your car black? I got beat pretty bad in my G8 one evening by an 11/12 with centri blower on 79 north near Canonsburg, lol.

Am I the only one who thinks 3.73 is almost too much gear? I'm swapping 3.31s into mine. Although I will be running a 315/30r18 race tire which essentially is the same gearing as the 3.73s with the stock 19" tire.

I hear ya Mark. That is what I was implying above. If I ever do go blower I would probably keep the 3.73's and see how I liked the gear with the blower...and if it was too much gear I'd consider 3.31's. I like the thought of those long pulls like the GT500's are capable of.

I have gotten used to it, but I couldn't believe how short the gearing in this car was when I bought it. I guess if you have 3.73s with a blower you are gonna need a shift to 5th in the quarter anyways, may as well use the gear, so 4.10s might make sense.

3.73's In my gt500. The stock tires measured somewhere around 27". I have 305/35/20 555r measure over 28". The end of 4th will take you to around 135 mph which is perfect for my setup.
