    1988 Thunderbird Sport Coupe

All power options...windows, seats, lumbar, sunroof. Also have another set of original seats that are in perfect condition. This is the last of the Fox chassis T-birds and they only made this body style during 1987-1988. Everything in the driveline from the radiator to rear end has been updated, upgraded or replaced. This car has never been in any accidents.

    Starting with the major components.......

HO from a 1988 Mustang GT, Explorer upper and lower (same as GT40), Edelbrock 70mm TB, underdrive pulleys, 1-5/8" shorties, BBK H-pipe. Flowmaster catback w/ LX style tips. Also did the MAF swap.

T5 from a 1990 Mustang GT w/ Center Force clutch and PP, B&M short throw shifter, new shifter cable, BBK quadrant.

Rear from a 1987 Turbo Coupe (8.8", 3.55 Traction Lock w/ disc brakes--all new hardware).

The entire fuel system is new...Walbro 255 and lines up to the stock hardlines by the front frame section. BBK Fuel Pressure Regulator and gauge. EGR delete.

Master cylinder was upgraded to a larger bore from a 1985 Crown Vic. All new copper nickel brake lines. Front brakes were upgraded to the 11" Turbo Coupe (stock were 10"). Also installed a Wilwood Manual Prop Valve.

    New steering rack.

    Full length SFC's.

The Sport's have a larger front sway bar. I upgraded the rear w/ a 1" bar.

It currently wears Centerlines w/ 215/65-15 fronts and 245/60-15 rears and all in excellent condition. It sets w/ a little bit of a rake w/ '98 Cobra springs in the front and stock TB in the rear.

I've got about 7K miles on it since the swap and it runs perfect. Total mileage on the car is 101k.

The interior is a solid 7/10. The paint is a good 7/10 also. The only rust is above the fender wells on both rears. Both spots are less than the size of a nickel.

Only selling to possibly fund a newer project. Can text pics upon request. This is one of the NICEST Fox T-bird you will find.

    Pretty firm at $4,000.00

Bump. This is a solid car. Will take offers from SCS members or referrals.

I actually think its pretty cool. I had a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo coupe I loved to drive but wished it had a 302. You did a nice job of upgrading the bird!

Thanks. I just don't have the fire for it anymore. Thinking I want something a little more modern...with cup holders!!

For a basically stock 5.0 is runs pretty darn good...especially in a heavier car. Traction in 1st gear is sketchy and it breaks them loose in second easily.

Good luck selling her - if she goes I know you'll be a bit sad - but the title is still wrong!

I'm looking for a super clean, low mileage, older Explorer ( 2003-2008 ). Missed out on one in Beaver last week. Let me know if anyone sees one out and about.

It'll be sad if it goes but I want a faster summer DD with newer technology. This car is at it's tipping point of mods invested to value. I got into it right, modded it right and can get out of it ahead of the game...which does not happen often. If I put anymore money into it then it goes upside down on cash outlay to value. Normally I don't worry about this (Ranger is STUPID upside down) but I really do want something newer. We'll see what happens.

You won't regret getting the Recaros...especially if this is going to be a car that you keep for a long time.

Don't have X plan. I have no dealership or Ford connections.
