526 flywheel hp @ 7500 rpm is a little disappointing to be truthful. Especially with only 429 flywheels tq

At that kind of rpm and today's technology I would have expected the # to be closer to 600 HP

Even if the HP was better it wouldn't matter to me as the car is ugly........especially that wing!

302 cubes, right? N/A, right? 526hp off the showroom floor, right?

    I think that's pretty good.

After running a few #'s it does look as if the combo is near optimal.

Most street-able combos make apprx. 100 HP per liter as does this engine.

Now I wonder if the addition of exhaust, cai, and other normal bolt-ons pick up much power or if the combo is near maximized?

There has to be power left in the tune. Can't wait to see what these cars are capable of.

If 526hp from 5.2L is disappointing then 505hp with 7.0L is an outright disgrace then. Ford essentially one upped gm in the NA hp dept.

Just like the current 2015 iteration of the coyote that has proven to rev to 8000 once tuned, from a factory rev limiter of 7000. This engine is far from tapped out. The voodoo engine has the factory the rev limiter set to 8250. There have been videos of the engine on an engine dyno singing past 10,000 rpm. Headers, cai and tune it'll put out more hp with a high 8000/low 9000 rpm redline, It's also not commanding an aggressive amount of timing either in factory config.

Ford basically built a z28 killer for $11500 less if you want AC and $13,500 less if you want it like the base z28. This is for the R model.

although i'm not a big ford supporter the engine in the GT350 is pretty impressive. high revving V8 is always welcomed lol

not sure if it'll be a z28 killer though until I see some test results from the gt350. don't forget that still no news/info on what the gen 6 Z28 will have.

i'm still waiting to see how real the secret twin turbo V8 chevy tested is. rumor was a independent shop tested it and it dropped 808hp at only 8psi!

    Gt350

That v8 was reported by horsepower kings which is a click bait website. Not true.

Non of the American car manufacturers are releasing cars that are less potent than their competitors previous gen. The gt350 has been rumored to be running the ring in the high 7:20s to low 7:30s. As well as posting faster national track times as well. All rumors but when ford releases the numbers I am betting it will be ahead. It's no their thing to release something behind their competitor.

Well if your comparing todays engine with a pushrod engine that was released 10 years ago then yes id say Ford finally one upped a engine that Chevy did a decade ago.......Good job Ford!

Z28 killer??? I wouldn't go counting your chickens before they hatch on that one.

I mean, the GT350R did post a better lap time on Nurburgring than the Z28.

It will be interesting to see how the GT350 and Z28 stack up when Randy Pobst gets behind the wheel.
