When half the posters and at least one sponsor left to start another site was the beginning of the end here.To many people banned for stupid shit. Lou realized this early on imo. When Rode was booted then Mike bought it, the site lost two incomes basically.

Not enough drama IMO. Forums always seemed to be at their best and busiest when there was drama allowed to go on.

That said it seems the forum has been more active since Mike hit us with this.

There is, but when it is too regulated you end up with a forum that's just for posting pictures & circle jerking.. A lot of the original user base moved on to non mustang/ford products. It was petitioned for years to evolve into a more general local enthusiast board but never happened. With the failure of UGH and other local boards, it was inevitable that a forum devoted to such a small subset of the local scene would die.

The thing that brought me here originally was to talk shit on a member at the time who was street racing at a local spot drunk with an empty 30 pack in his back seat, ended up I had a bunch of friends already here and stuck around.

Yes I remember when they wanted to open the site up and even change the name. I know I wouldn't post anymore if things got out of hand. I'm an adult, I don't find it funny or amusing. You or others might think that is what keeps a forum alive but not me. But that's just my opinion.

edit: meaning drama keeps the forum alive

There is always a certain level of drama around the car scene no matter the age, the demographics or the vehicles. There needs to be some friction to keep things moving and keep people interested. When was the last SCS "event"? We used to put on a race every year over on Pittspeed and call out SCS.... and 1 or 2 people would show up from here. It's beyond help at this point, forums are a dying medium and if someone buys the name/brand it would be for nostalgic purposes and not because there is any worth behind it.

The forum could be bought tomorrow. But it has to be priced at it's real value.

Sk360. Thats something I agree with is to change to broader range of vehicles welcomed....obviously a name change would have to be. I really respect and like a lot of variety in the car scene but you know yourself most people aren't like that here...

There doesn't need to be drama on a website to keep it active. And despite what some of you may think, this is still a active website. At 3:30pm this afternoon there was 67 members who had visited the website. By 11pm tonight I bet that number goes up to 90+. It's getting new members involved and posting that is the key. Yes, your right there hasn't been SCS get together here. Why? It just takes a few members to get things moving. On my website I wish I had 67 members coming to it a day, but guess what...with my website we have meets, Stang Runs, Flashlight Drag events, and a car show that raised $1,700 for cancer. This Sunday there will be a Christmas party with over 45 people showing up. Forums are not dead, it takes great members like the ones posting here to make a website.

My point exactly. Since mike took over there hasn't been one single event that was tied to SCS. Shirts alone won't promote a site.

There was a guy on the Mountain Mustangs Facebook group a week or so ago that was asking about forums. I had mentioned SCS. I had heard and seen it was trying to be sold but not told that it will be totally gone at the first of the year.

I know a few great car forums that have ZERO drama. And that's why I like them. Everyone acts like an adult.

I've always liked forums that are run serious for people that truely just want tech info, or whatever, but have one section that is basically barely moderated for shit talking, kill stories, funny pics, etc. I think a healthy mix keeps the forum worth visiting and keeps post count up. If you see there is no real activity it's easy to move on. It's a shame to see this one go, but I can certainly see that Mike is done investing time and money in it, and I can respect that too.
