Wrecked w/ 12 miles on it?

My brother in law bought a 2014 GT in late July. Lately he's gotten the bug for a 2015. So he went to a local dealer that had a 2015 he wanted. They ran the carfax on his 2014 and it came back as wrecked. He bought the car with 12 miles on it. The carfax said it had a moderate front end collision w/ airbag deployment between July and September. The dealer he got it from never mentioned an accident, but they also did not give him a carfax when he bought it. But....who would think you'd need a report on a new car. Anyone hear of this before?

Still - that is BS on the part of the dealer. Where'd he buy it? He's going to lose his ass trading it in in a 2015...

My wifes aunt bought a Bonneville in the early 90's brand new and found out it had been hit. The dealer wouldn't do anything about it. She was just screwed. She may have been able to sue them, but didn't pursue it.

He's going on Monday to see the dealer. It was Tri Star in Blairsville, PA.

IMO..........He'd lose his ass trading a 14 on a 15 regardless, even it weren't hit.

I had a TON of problems with Tri Star as a company. I bought my fusion from Tri Star in Uniontown, PA and they were real dicks about a lot of things. I had water leaking in where the floorpan meets the firewall. The first time they said they fixed it. Got it back, drove it when it was raining and the floor was wet again on the drivers side. Took it back, they claimed the fixed it. Drove it through the rain again a few weeks later, same thing. Took it back. They claimed they brought in these people that are specifically for water issues. I told them to make sure they check where the floor pan meets the firewall. They claimed they did. When I picked it up over a month later, they claimed it was fixed. I asked if they checked that spot. They said yes, it was fine and no problems. A few weeks later, it rained, and the same thing. Water on the drivers side. That's when I called the manager, flipped out and told him how it was going to be. They finally sent me somewhere else. I told the tech that he better check where the floor pan meets the firewall, because I am NOT convinced it was looked at. Two weeks later, I get a phone call telling me: "We checked where the floor pan meets the firewall. It wasn't sealed. We sealed it and now it's fixed. We can't get any water inside the car". Low and behold, the next time it rained and I drove it, no water in the car. I paid on a car for six months that I didn't even get to drive because it was in the shop. Complete bullshit this dealership as a whole is.

If I were him I'd bitch and complain. I reported them to the BBB, not sure if that ever does anything though lol.

Exactly - when he sees how bad the trade offer is...maybe he'll sell it to you cheap?
