    Drug home another dentside pickup...

Picked this up last weekend - justification to myself (and the Mrs.) is that since it is already converted to a working elec/hydraulic dump, I can sell my highboy dump project truck as well as the gray truck towing in this picture. Also with being a supercab the family can ride along with me in the winter time for trips to the lumber store...the crew cab will not see snow/salt but this workhorse will.

Should have a more capable truck (dump and plow) and money in my pocket in the end...atleast that is the theory. ;)

This supercab has some goodies on it I have been wanting for a while in a 70's dent:

    D60 Front
Factory front and rear sway bars
    Electric over hydraulic dump
    Power angle myers plow
    8500 GVWR

It came equipped with a 400 and C6 (wish it was a 4-speed but not going to change it)

I will probably do a Marti report on it to see what other packages it came with...the door decoder doesn't say much other than what I already knew.

Truck will need a new exhaust, a tune up, and new rear shock hangers put on, and cleanup the brakes...should be about it before inspection....maybe...I know how these "small projects" go.

Looks like a nice work horse! I almost bought a red one on CL a few months ago that had a power dump installed on the factory bed. It had a built 460 with built dana 60's front and rear. I mostly wanted it to swap axles with my blue truck. I've only got a dana 44 up front right now and an open diff 16 spline dana 60 in the rear

Nice! See, this is why you can't get those motors done.... Too many projects... I think you should donate them to my cause.

I paid $3900...it is worth that or more in parts so I was happy with the deal. The seller seemed like a straight shooter. Truck should weigh around 6k without the plow so can haul over 1 ton legally...he also gave me (4) budd wheels to convert to dually if I decide to do so. Also got the correct factory supercab dent-trim which is in nice shape and hard to find. Tough to see in the picture but the plow is in the dump-bed.

My highboy dump has a 78-79 box on it, and a HP60, DB, 30/35 spline front axle...nice upgrades for Ol' Blue. It also has a super solid dump bed that is PTO driven. I really don't want to take the time to part it though....you should buy the whole thing. :)

I did see that other red one...thought it was definitely priced right.

Yes those motors have taken a back seat for 4 yrs worth of house/garage/barn/wedding/family projects....hoping to get back into it in 2015.

I scored a set of edel rpm's on the cheap...will put them on my 472 for my 69 mustang, the ported big valve heads on teh 466 in my crew, and may do an iron headed 460 someday in this supercab....

If my 14 YO daughter was a little closer to driving age I'd consider it. She rides horses a lot and spends a bunch of time at the barn. She wants a pickup truck when the time comes. Yours is probably a bunch more truck than she needs, but the bad ( guessing ) gas mileage would keep her from cruising around for no good reason. What are the specs on your truck? Mpg? Full time 4wd?

    It's a perfect horse puller. :)

It's pulling 9300lbs in the above picture...3.55's with 37' BFG's and 4-speed...pulled strong. avg 10mpg and best is 12mpg....still more left if I hooked up the vac advance.

Haha thanks John - but she won't be pulling any trailers herself. A 4x4 short bed with an I-6 and an auto would be ideal. But dang yours is sweet. If we ever have to pull a horse trailer my F250 will be the tow vehicle. I have a buddy in Texas who says those trucks are everywhere down there. Unless I stumble onto one here for cheap I will probably be looking down there.
