    Another DD for Mrs Paxton...

Back in April I sold my wife's beloved DD...a 2001 Eddie Bauer Explorer. It was a faithful and relatively dependable car and my wife loved it from day 1. My wife never learned to love the replacement DD...a super clean low mile garage kept 2008 Honda Odyssey. So...a few weeks ago I found something we both like, although for different reasons...

I like the power plant...all 32 valves of it. All 302 horses.

She likes the AWD, the heated and cooled seats, the great stereo, and the memory seats.

Some of you probably already know what it is from these clues. For those who don't, here it is....
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

Very nice! I've been looking at those myself recently. Seem to be going for great prices given all the options and power.

Haha - that's right John! Hey - it gets letter mileage than my F250!

I got 18 mpg on the ride home from Cincinnati. Around town it is probably around 12-13. My wife works a mile from home and I work about 6 miles from home, so mpg isn't a big deal for us.

    Thanks Barry! Happy wife...happy life!

Dan - the last text I got from you was the one from your new number. I replied but didn't hear back. I have been having a bit of trouble receiving some - but not all texts. I will send another in a minute. Let me know if it comes thru. Merry Christmas buddy!

Ray and John - if mpg isn't a huge concern, these Aviators really seem like a great deal right now. New the prices were ridiculous - but there are used ones out there for just a little more than an equivalent Explorer. The trick is finding one with low miles. I was ready to buy one with 39k and the buyer flaked out and decided not to sell. This one has 64k on it now, but it looks nearly new, especially underneath. I can honestly say this one needs no mods - Lincoln got it right. It rides as nice - and has more power - than my Mom's and Sister's Lexus RX350's.
