    WTB Teksid Block

    Like the title states, I am looking for a Teksid block for my latest project. Shoot me a pm if anyone has any leads on one in good shape. Thanks!

    Would a 93 Lincoln mark 8 have one in it?

    WTB Teksid Block

    I'm pretty sure the 93-98 Mark 8 used the same block as the 96-98 Cobras. The part number should be F6LZ-6010-AB.

    I have heard that the early Mark 8 blocks were weaker, but I don't know how true that is. Is someone able to give insight on that?

    Wouldn't an F6xxxx part number indicate a 1996 casting date?

    Cx = 196x

    Dx = 197x

    Ex = 198x

    Fx = 199x

    I bet Ares can provide some input as he is building a nasty teksid motor for his car.

    I have been reading trough the Sean Hyland book. That's the part number it states, but I would assume Digit #2 changes with the year and he just gave '96 as an example.

    Could be - I just didn't want you think the '93 block wouldn't work just because it had a "3" in the second spot.

    Edit:
    Ok this is on outside of block. Cast in 10/94

    Thanks. Are you aware of the early Teksid's being weaker or is this just a myth I've heard. I haven't been able to find any other block part numbers to compare.

    Honestly I never heard of that. Just avoid the Lincoln Continental Teksid. That is a front wheel drive setup and the block is different.

    Also the aluminum WAP block. About 5 lbs lighter, not as strong but can be found in later Mountineer's and Explorers.

    It might have been something i took out in the wrong context.

    I appreciate the input.

    In my opinion if our not building a 1000hp engine I would spend the time and money looking for the strongest teksid block. They are getting hard to find and that is pushing the cost up.

    If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
