American muscle was claiming fastest 2015 with a 9.49, then Watson Racing ran 9.13 over the weekend.

I am willing to bet those are gutted out race cars with light weight windows and all the tricks. I was out a Norwalk a few times watching cars run for fastest claims, however not the ones mentioned above, after seeing how gutted out they were I just shook my head and walked away. I went to the event wanting to see fully optioned street cars in a street class not a drag car playing street.

agree 100%. That's cool that they are fast, but gutted out race cars are not my thing. I would rather watch a full option/interior leather seat street car run a 10 then some purpose built gutted car run a 8.

I agree with this to a point.

If it is a stripped out, 2,500 pound, full race car, thats completely acceptable.

IF you try to convince me it is a "Street car", thats another story.

Both of those cars are not tuned on the factory ecu, mine is and mine also weighs 4000 LBS WITH ME IN IT! I drove it to the track with th eAC on getting 23 mpg.
2015 A6 Mustang GT that so far has gone 9.48@147 but still the fastest prochargerd S550 in the world aside from Tim Essick's!

Glad I am not the only one. Took me a custom turbo kit, Th400, SRA and drag suspension to get close to that time on 93 pump. That and my MPGs stink! These new cars are unreal.

They are running a standalone? has something changed from 14 to 15 that they wouldn't use the factory ecu?

I believe the AM car used 2011 cams, ECU, and tuning.

ahhhhhh... okay so its a factory ECU, not the factory ECU for that year car. I was gonna say it would surprise me with the amount of tuning AM does (through their BAMA team) they would abandon a ford ECU and go standalone.

They broke the stock timing chain crank sprocket. Went with a 2011 style chain drive and found out the computer didn't like it. Theirs is also a built motor. Not sure about the Watson Racing car. When I read about it no one said if it was the stock motor or not. Probably all a moot point anyways since Seer has surely gone 8's by now, lol

Big congrats Tim! Very impressive for so few mods. +1 on the suspension and half shaft questions, stock or aftermarket?

from what I remember of seeing it at carlisle, the bama 2015 was relatively spartan in the interior.
