should i dump the equal length shorty's

well a good respecatble and fast member here reccomended that i got rid of the equal length shorty's instead of buying some plug wire boot protectors. since as you can see in the pic...i have little to no room on the #3 cylinder wire.

is there much difference in performance in the equal to unequal length shorty's. i dont have much mods and i know that matters.

    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
im thinking the boot protectors be easier and cheaper to do...but what does SCS think.

I don't see any reason to get rid of them. I don't think they're worth the extra money for the initial purchase, but if you already got them there's no reason to change unless you went with long tubes

doesnt make much sense to me, but to each his own.... you wont see any power gain and unless you go ceramic coated, they will look like crap in a few months anyway......

If you are going to get different headers you would be better off getting longtubes like ray said, that would be the only reason i would get different headers

One of my past 5.0 cars had them. They sucked, I think they were blems. I had that same issue. I just wraped them.

I recomended replacing the headers as an option because they are a PITA. I have had the equal lenth headers myself and found the MSD wires took alot more heat than the FMS wires. Like I said, there are ways to fix the problem but if it were mine I would put unequal shortys or LTs on it.

I'd just go long tubes. They are nice. Quiets it down though.

get some full length headers, shortys are a big pain... full lengths give you more room up top, the shorties are to crammed.. my .02$

+1 for sure. A little tough to install but well worth it. They free up some room, look great and work nicely.
