I can't get away with doing that with all the emissions bs. I am sure the exhaust filter would be pissed off.

Oh man, get rid of that crap!!! Epa choked the shit out of these things. The main problem with mine is the tolerances. A 7.3 will run on 100% trans oil. Mine won't. In the summer I can get away with about 75% trans fluid maybe a Lil more. Winter....no way. Especially last week. I have no idea what my new fuel system will do with the stuff as the factory pump has a heater built in. My aeromotive set up with CAT filters does not.

Ive honestly dumped 30 gallons of filtered trans oil in my tank with about 7 or 8 gallons white diesel and it ran great!
Only additive I would recommend for your truck is the power source stuff. Never use diesel 911 unless you're gelled up and it won't start. That shit is hard on the fuel system.

customer of mine with 6.4 just popped head gaskets. stock no tune and went at 30k miles. think said ended up costing him $5500 to repair it as it was out of warranty due to model year. it is an f550 dump that gets used but sorry that is ridiculous to have to deal with that. he bought it new too so knows the life truck has had
I agree. Cat/DPF delete, intake and a tune and WOW what a difference, not to mention the fuel mileage. Dumbest idea they ever had was to inject raw fuel into the motor on the exhaust stroke to push into the DPF for regen. Lastly, get rid of the EGR system, coolers and all. It sutts the intake and when the coolers fail, bad things happen. It's funny how the 6.4s produced for overseas had NONE of the emissions crap on them, and they don't have ANY of the problems we have here with them.

Well just did the fuel filters (rear and front) at 30,500. I didn't find a drop of water in my fuel and the rear filter still looked good. Also did my second oil change. I am starting to think that diesel engines are just hard on oil because it came out black as night with 8k on it. I am use to gas engines where my oil doesn't look this bad after 15k. That and I don't haul anything in the winter and just the car and camper in the summer so the truck gets babied for a super duty.

If it isn't deleted I would change it at 3k.

It's not the oil, it's what the truck puts in it when you have all the emissions garbage on. Namely fuel, and soot from the EGR. That's why the oil is black in like 5 mins. If you deleted the truck it wouldn't be like that.

Exactly mark! In wouldn't put more than 3000 on it. Severe damage and costly repairs are going to happen. It's not a "could" happen. They will. I don't care what the oil manufacturer says its good to. That means absolutely nothing.

A diesel isn't a Honda. You can't just forget about it and drive it. These things take a lot of expensive maintenance and upkeep.

I agree with all the above statements. No way in hell will that oil be ok for that many miles.. I wouldn't do it in a gas engine let alone diesel.

I know the chart. The only people that follow it ate the ones that like huge repair bills or those that don't take the advice from real world people that know these trucks and work on them. You can follow it but be warned...you are guaranteed a massive dealer cost to fix. Talk to and real diesel mechanic from the dealership. They will tell to the exact se thing.
Don't talk to a gasser tech that does basic oil change/coolant flushes. They don't know anything about these trucks.
A $8000 bill for a fuel system just recently done for the second time should mean something. He followed that exact same chart on recommendations too.

Not saying I would push it to 10k but 8k and under is fine to me. I have spoken to a fleet tech and was told to send it out and have test. Odds are it is still fine. He was one of the reason I went with the 6.7 over the older engines.
So back to the fuel... am I just lucky not to find water and have good looking filters. You guys made diesel soound like is was pumped out of a landfill.
Haha.
Did you drain the water separator?

I was going to have Wick do some work on my 6.0 farm truck. Slow time of the season for me, so I decided to put my lift to work. Removed cab, head gaskets, oil cooler, egr cooler delete. Dropped off the heads at the machine shop this morning. Hopefully they check out ok.
