I think the ecoboost engine is a good idea.....i believe it will lead to great things like maybe an ecoboost V8 engine

I don't care what motor is in it - as long as it hauls ass and sounds amazing. The car sure has killer looks.

I think they are showcasing the ecoboost. I hate to even say it, but I think the writing is on the wall for the V8. I think a V8 in a passenger car will be a thing of the past sooner than any-one wants to believe. IMO the horsepower wars we are seeing with cars like the Hellcat and GT500 will soon end too.
I'm pretty sure they used the 3.5 for two reasons.
1. Marketing. The ecoboost name is the future of Ford. In the release, Bill Ford used the term many times.
2. With this motor, the car will fit in the GTE Le Mans class. Ford is producing this car to compete in Europe as well as just being a production car. In this class, a forced induction motor is limited to 4.0L. It also has to be a powerplant used in another production vehicle.

I like it. No V8 is a let down to its heritage, but times change. I would however like to see it in the classic Gulf colors.

I was surprised to see it wasn't v8 powered. I'm not turned off by the fact it has a ttv6, I just can't wait to see how it performs

Fun facts about this engine. It's been testing to make over 1200hp when modded with larger turbos but stock internals. It can make almost 900whp with just porting the stock turbos and new wheels with some aggressive tuning and fuel.
The car has a carbon fiber monocoque and will weigh sub 3000. It's suppose to out perform the MacLaren 650s

I do when the chief engineer from ford who designed it says it on record at the show.
Same with the program manager who has run the same engine in the Daytona prototype. You do realize this engine has been in use already right? Or do you think they just shove the engine from the Taurus sho in a light weight body, turned up the boost and called it good?
Hmm, carbon fiber monocoque, aluminum front and rear section, cf body.
This isn't a $35,000-$45,000 mustang. This car will most likely cost over $250,000. Are you also aware of fords liberal use of carbon fiber and aluminum to lighten all of their vehicles over the next five years to increase performance, and fuel economy right? Cars like this as technology demonstrators and then various features of this tech filters down into their regular lineups.
If you want to talk about let downs lets talk about the c7 z06. Great car for less than two minutes.
We all know how terrific the last gen GT was when it came out. especially it's aftermarket potential. Ford doesn't have a track record of going backwards in performance since the 80s.

So only 135 total production units over 5 years? I find that hard to believe from Ford in this day and age. If so, that's awesome but I think if they see that there is a market for it and people are actually willing to put up the cash, that number will be increased to fill the demand.
Back around 05/06 I remember hearing directly from a Ford executive that the then upcoming GT500 would be limited to a total production run of 7,500 over 3 years (07, 08, and 09). Needless to say we all know that they made far more than for another 5 years until 2014.
I can def see it around the 250-350k range.
It is going to be amazing - can't wait to see and hear one in person.

Ill bet production will be higher. Ford has said the McLaren 650S was the benchmark for performance so I'd bet they will also exceed their production numbers as well yearly.

So your still buying all of the "magazine quotes" that you bought with the Mustang GT? Thought you may have learned your lesson on that one especially after pretty much all of it was just hype. Literally none of your claims on the 2015 Mustang were even close to being true.
You claimed it:
1. Was going to be 400 lbs lighter than the 2014's......
2. It was going to be atleast 500hp.......
3. It was going to run mid 11's right off the showroom floor........
Reality:
1. Car weighed 86lbs MORE than the 2014's
2. Car makes 435 hp
3. Car runs mid to high 12's
Would you care to make a public wager that the car will weigh over 3K?
What does the C7Z06 have to do with the Ford GT? I thought this thread was talking about the GT?
