Wow, Hellcat pulled pretty hard there. Description on the video says the Hellcat is bone stock. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised given the weight on the Hellcat being able to pull that hard on a SC 5.0. One thing is for sure, both drivers have a death wish racing around traffic like that.

Racing past other cars is a no no even for the street racing guys. Find a clearing and go at it, don't race past traffic.

Looked like the Hellcat was gaining mostly when the mustang shifted. Would be interesting to know what the Paxton 5.0 puts down to the wheels. I'm guessing 550+, but it's hard to know exactly how much

Street racing videos mean absolutely nothing. You have no idea of the intentions of the video maker or the people driving either car. Only videos I put any merit in are 1/8 or 1/4 mile videos that show times and if the entire time slip is posted.

Street racing and the nrra is all about the power of the vehicle.

So what does that prove? Someone just put more time into tire and suspension. Power to power car to car roll race is what will be the best comparison. Takes all the other factors out of the mix and puts it all on the car.

Like if pin my car vs your car. If my car goes down the 1/8 faster than yours does that make mine faster or because my setup is setup for the track?

I guess the Hellcat in vid 1 was an auto? Beyond stupid to race in traffic like that. Two pretty bad cars though - that's for sure.

I agree, while a car can still be made to be advantageous in a roll race, I think it is a better comparison of car vs car to roll race. Too many variables in going from a dig. Hell I could set up a car with 4.56's and have it dead hook off the limit, run a good 1/8th.... but the car would get spanked from a roll race

If the race takes place with clocks then we can tell if one of the parties is sandbagging it or how far off pace they are if there not a good driver. That is the only true way to know which car is faster. Theres thousands of videos floating out there that are made with bias against one of the cars in the video. Having clocks brought into the equation removes ulterior motives from alot of these video makers.

    Case in point here:

My brother has a 900+ whp GTR

    I have a 600+ rwhp Z06

We can make a video of me dusting him and make it look believable to those viewing on youtube and the internet so I can boast it and say I dusted a 900hp GTR and I can go post on all of my forums and whatever about how fast my car is.

We can also make a believable video of him smoking me (which would happen in a legit race) for him to go brag to his buddies and forums that he smoked a Z06.

Do you see what I mean? We NEVER know all of the factors in the race to know if its a truly legit or not.
    Such as:
Do the cars truly make the power claimed in the videos?
Are one of the drivers sandbagging for the video?
Did one of the cars have a missed shift, malfunction of some sort, or a mechanical failure?
How good or bad of a driver each one of the drivers are?

I put ZERO merit into any video out there unless its at the track and each car shows the times.

Hell I could race somebody 10 times and lose 9 of them but then go post the 1 video of me beating them and chest pound to all the people that have no clue that car smoked me 9 out of 10 races. This crap happens every single day.

I'd bet the good majority of stoplight to stoplight races with these cars end up like this. Especially the average middle aged guy that bought the car to have the "fastest" thing on the road. Factory street tires on ect. These things would do amazing in burout competitions.
